DAK Character Changes

We have tried to see Pocahontas in Camp Minnie-Mickey but she seems hard to catch. The only time I ever saw her over there, she was "done" and was retreating into the former Forest Friends area. She's not listed on the times guide. I hope maybe her CMM times will be on the times guide now that she's not going to be at Planet Watch.

I would complain to Disney but nowadays atleast with entertainment it seems that no matter how many complaints they recieve or no matter how negative the reaction is to something, they don't do anything about it anymore. Remember how negative the reaction to the Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun parade was and how many people complained? Well almost a year later and we still have it. The huge response when they cut Flynn Rider? Yup, still only available at MNSSHP and MVMCP. It just doesn't even make you want to bother anymore really with complaining.

The catering to the first time visitor has a lot to do with this IMO. If people don't know they're losing out why would they complain? Fantasmic had so many complaints Guest Relations stopped keeping track and supposedly, that was the most complained about thing ever at WDW(from what I was told).

I don't mind the characters being taken out, but I hope DAK management will replace them with a few others.

This is why the Yeti hasn't been made a bigger issue outside of the fan community. I've talked to so many people about Everest and they all enjoy the ride, and when I tell them that the Yeti used to swipe at you they all have the same remark, "huh, yeah I guess that makes a lot of sense - that would have been cool to see".

I love Finding Nemo the musical but I'm still a little bitter about them closing Tarzan Rocks...

I never ever got to see Tarzan Rocks because I was so young the first time I went. However in the context of Animal Kingdom Tarzan Rocks was so much a better fit than Finding Nemo in my opinion anyway. I would have preferred they opened Finding Nemo in Maybe Hollywood Studios as part of Pixar Place that would have seemed a smart choice for me but oh well.

Have they already cut the opening show because on Steve Soares site they usually list it but for this week it's not on the schedule anymore, any info?

Up until at least 6 months ago, the description on Soares was still for the Old, Old welcome show. I dont think that information gets vetted at all, just spit out from the current week Tell-a-Cast. I find the site useless.

Would've been a perfect fix for Pixar Place and the Studios! More poor theme planning....But I can't complain, I never thought about it either!

How could a musical about animals be poor themeing in ANIMAL Kingdom?

I'm with Tigger 1988. TarzanRocks was a fun show, but terribly-themed for Animal Kingdom. Nemo certainly works, as did the Jungle Book show that was the first show in that theater.

It's sad, because Disney used to really listen to their guests and respond accordingly. Now they just don't care.

How many years did it take to bring back Fantasmic! on a regular basis? And the show is still in terrible shape.

This is really sad news. We always make it a point to be at the parks way before opening in order to catch the park openings. It is one big part that makes us feel the Disney magic. I also hate the loss of the meet and greets.

I am not disputing that about Nemo and poor theming and I understand exactly why it is in Animal Kingdom.

Although Jungle Book, Tarzan and Nemo are amazing shows if they could have all three I would be happy :P. The more live entertainment shows the better :).

Festival of The Lion King is an amazing show :P one of my favourites :):)

I agree. Nemo's a fine fit for Animal Kingdom, just not for "Dino Land USA."

Fortunately the Theater in the Wild sits outside of Dinoland and Asia, so I'm not sure the theming is that big an issue. Leave it to us to complain about a high-quality musical made from scratch using a movie with no songs. Oh, and Disney also dared to enclose the theater and make it more comfortable for the guests. Now that's just crazy!

Although not everyone was a fan, I also really enjoyed Tarzan Rocks and missed it until I saw what they did with Nemo, now we will travel to AK just to see it...

I'm also sad to see these cuts at AK. An extra character meal shouldn't cut into a park's character offerings. After all, the money that is being made on the meal should more than cover the extra characters needed. It's a shame that they paying guest is being cut short for apparently not spending enough money while in the park.

I never got there early enough to catch the opening "show", but it's still sad to see something unique like that get cut. These changes just don't make much sense to me!

Here's the thing - if the show wasn't of a high quality, it's location in the park would be added to the list of complaints. Because the location isn't exactly logical, the complaints about it's location get mentioned but become less of an issue.

People are willing to forgive thematic issues/land disconnects in favor of quality attractions.
