You really only need to get in those lines if you want the most premium seat.

I'm a total weasel and arrived at 10am and still got into Legends.

I waited for Disney+ afterwards and still had lots of time to wander the show floor.

Oh what a relief. Is that line mostly for standby? Or so they have show pass?

I can understand your point but it’s not shocking to me the angle they presented. I just doubt an advertisement to be able to rewatch the old Disneyland show would reel a lot of modern audiences in. I love old Disney and that still wouldn’t get me to sign up. To be a success, Disney+ can’t just go obscure and can’t just go non-modern. Not when billions of dollars are at stake. And to your point, the back catalogue of Disney movies are films many already own.

(That being said, I’d be ecstatic if they loaded all the old Disney cartoons. I watched all the Silly Symphonies in the fall on YouTube and wow, the progression of animation when you watch them back to back to back...)

I’m looking forward to watching a little of Lizzie McGuire, as someone who grew up with her. It’ll be nice to say a quick hello to Kim Possible too.

Say what you will about Marvel, but they generally produce solid content and it’s nice the platform is going to give them a chance to experiment and go obscure and diversify their cast of characters. I mean Moon Knight? C’mon. Seems out of left field but then we all thought the Guardians were too.

As for the Star Wars stuff... I’m not an uber Star Wars fan but even I got excited by Obi Wan. Say what you will about the prequels but Ewan McGregor was the best part about them. His enthusiasm for the character has always been evident, so I think he’ll give it his all. Makes me easily want to give him... and by default, Disney+, a chance.
Oh, I’m not saying to avoid the modern stuff. Go for it. But you have to appeal to all audiences if you really want this thing to take off. There shouldn’t have to be a prerequisite of being a diehard Marvel/Star Wars junkie in order to be a Disney fan. Especially since a lot of this classic Disney content doesn’t have to be produced, but simply uploaded. And hey, maybe they do have this stuff planned and just didn’t find it newsworthy. I was just expecting them to give the service the full blowout.

Lucky. By our experience we barely got in Legends and we arrived at 2AM. Did you have a reservation?

Because in my years of being on this board I realize that what we say doesn't mean squat in this situation. The only reason we might even be getting Figment is because his merchandise sells.

That's where I'm at. I'm not thrilled with everything but I can't be angry or bitter or jaded anymore. I'm glad they're investing in Epcot. I wish they went in a different direction but this is where we're at. I'm intrigued. It's time to move on. Nothing is forever, even all of this.

I'm with you, there's A LOT of old Disney content that I would want on Disney+

The old anthology show, 80s and 90s Disney Channel programming, WWoD movies, Disney Afternoon Shows, vintage cartoons etc.

It's nice to have Blu-ray releases through Disney Movie Club of movies like The Black Hole, but Disney+ is ideal for all that TV and short stuff.

I think his point may be..."I don't think they are going to meet those demands...they are going a different direction. While quality is likely still to be there, probably not the type of entertainment, theme, etc. you're specifically looking for in many cases"

Ok..maybe those are my words, lol

This!

I fully understand where Epcot purists are coming from. I wish they were doing some things differently but I'm intrigued.

Being stubborn won't bring back Horizons folks. (And I'd be right there in line to ride it if it was and no it never should have been taken out; Mission Space sucks, IMHO)

Anywho ... I agree with you.

No, they actually let a bunch of people who were upstairs in at the very end. I actually got in 5 minutes after it started, that's how long it took to empty out the basement.

You can time how long you waited for it to start to gauge how far back you actually were.

I think I got in pretty much right when you did.

No. Standby. You going to movies?

Unfortunately no, Disneyland for me. The Saturday passes had sold out before I expected.

It was the panel I was second most interested in prior to all of this, but the Disney+ one was weirdly satisfying.

Albeit I'll be sad to miss out on the sneak peaks of the WDAS/Pixar movies.

I’ll tell you how it is along with everyone else I guess.

Parks?
