It’s possible that it’s a Parks thing that’s big enough for Iger to be the one to announce it on Saturday, but then he doesn’t want to overshadow Chapek running the parks panel on Sunday.

This I could see. In 2015 what day did Iger announce GE, wasn't it also on a Saturday away from the main Parks presentation?

However I'm still kind of doubtful on it being Parks related right now. But one can dream, maybe its that Disney finally got Anaheim (or Garden Grove) to cave on a deal for a 3rd park for the DLR....

Iger announced it at the Studio presentation. He was talking about the films and then the transition along the lines of “Star Wars has been a big part of Disney parks...”

I am hoping they announce any new additions to Fantasyland, although I doubt they will according to the Al Lutz article

I predict the only DLR announcements will be details of the new parade, whatever lame promotion they're doing for next year, some details on Marvel land, and maybe some new details on ROTR. Wild card: Downtown Disney expansion.
