While not WDW news per se, this is where the "Are you joining D23" thread is stickied


Anyway,

Anyone else get a D23 Day One Charter Member pin via Fed Ex?

I searched, and did not find a existing thread

It's a largeish (inch high, by 2 inch wide) pin. Jimmny Cricket standing on the left side and a plate reading "D23 Day One Charter Member March 10, 2009"

Its black and gold.

I had no idea this was comming or planned. A nice little suprise on an Monday afternoon.

Especially because you didn't expect it. That's what some of the critics can't get their heads around. There's more to the club than what you read in the table of contents of membership benefits.

Maybe it's just me, maybe I am a sucker. But that is EXACTLY what I like about it.

I would much rather have a total of five "gifts" arrive at random unexpectedly, than have 10 things that I know I am going to get where its spelled out in a contract.

I guess its like the magical moments at WDW - totaly unexpected.

I came home, and there was a FedEx package at my door. I was not expecting anything that would be FedExd. I opened it and it was a nice little suprise.

My pin came today too. I was so confused because I couldn't remember ordering it. :lol: The thing is massive too.

Oh, and someone mentioned a car decal....I didn't get a car decal?! :(

It should have come with your initial sign up kit

Its a white D23 logo

I don't know if its specificaly for a car, or just a general decal.

It took me a minute to realize that I had one myself. :)

I totally did not get any kind of decal! :( Now I have to go back and look to see if it got stuck to other things in the initial package. :shrug:

time will tell. :)

"Day One" could mean just that. . . or it could mean "inaugural year." Personally, I am hoping for the latter, but if it goes to those who signed up on the very first day, then good for them!

Which is understandable. If they want to throw in surprises, more power to them, it makes D23 look better. But when they open up a club with just a merch mall and a mag, it just seems tactless.

I got mine today too.:D
But I can't remember if I actually signed up on Day 1.
I don't think I did, but who knows.
But I can say I did definitely signed up within the first week.

Funny to see those who don't like or care for D23 always posting in D23 threads... maybe they actually have a secret love for the program :ROFLOL:

On the main topic, I love the pin! Too bad I signed up a few weeks later. :(
