That's what made them the world leader but IMO they aren't that anymore. Times change and today's guest wants thrills with theming. Why else is Guardians one of the best attractions at WDW now. Look at the parks that get voted best in the USA now. It's Dollywood and Silver Dollar City
Disney is absolutely, 110% still the leader in themed resorts. My loyalty is to Uni, but objectively its not particularly close.

“Times” or “guests” changing is always a weak, vague excuse. Unless you’re going to engage in a deep, knowledgeable, wide-ranging cultural history research project, it’s just an excuse without substance.

Guardians is not one of the best attractions at WDW.

I love Dollywood, but if it gets voted “best,” (source?) it’s absolutely because of service, maintenance, and food, not thrill rides. Otherwise Cedar Point and its ilk would far surpass it.

Obviously I’ve misunderstood the point of the video then. I assumed it was “ and here’s what the Cars ride will be like”.

I don’t really understand why they’re showing us footage of what look like quad bikes on a dirt track if the ride isn’t anything like that.
I think the ride will be similar to what they show, but it's not the exact ride system. The whole point of the video is to say they have moved beyond the concept art stage of the projects and are on R&D, before construction begins in 2025.

In a way, I can see Cars almost becoming the new speedway on the other side of the park and in 10 years or so once Villians land is done, the whole of Tomorrowland is reworked to fit in more with Tron
In 10 years Tron will have had another major bomb, the IPs primary advocate Iger will be long gone, and Disney will be looking to retheme the mammoth box to something more viable.

If the new Muppets project was to close HoP, they probably didn't want to announce now due to the outcome of the election. It wouldn't look good.
Which could be why they may be reconsidering (or trying to quiet the announcement). As I noted elsewhere, it's going to the political if they do this in the next 4 years, and far more controversial in the wider media than any ride they could close perhaps with the exception of the railroad or IASW...

Waiting for more classic 'Josh'isms' .... 'beyond the blue wall or bulding in the future a billion years away' type announcements.

Classic Josh

Quad biking along a dirt track? Except without an actual quad bike since it’s supposed to be kid friendly.

You can have it. I’ll give it a miss thanks.

There will be a kid-friendly attraction and a more intense e-ticket attraction. This footage is for the e-ticket.

Is Pooh in jeopardy now???
Oh bother.
I don't know nothing, just think it's plausible they'd axe him.
So essentially, what we're hypothesizing is the Mr. Toad situation all over again (one attraction in that particular show building is swapped out with another), albeit sans the mass outcries and the discordance stemming from the lack of clarification up until only a week before the closing.

Can't say I want that, lest we end up with the Snow White situation all over again, too (ride capacity being swapped out with none, probably a bigger gift shop or yet another M&G)
