Oh Pooh is a HUGE merch pusher, he's actively dethroned Pokémon in terms of revenue for franchises! I just think he's in a spot where he can easily be yoinked out? I don't really see Disney use Pooh anymore these days, but he still pushes merchandise.

Iger does love his merch, but the last time I went I was pressed to even find a plush Pooh...
Pokemon and Hello Kitty are both ahead of Pooh

Imagine if she just lurks on these boards. There was a recently active thread on here about retheming Tower of Terror

1. Ariana was referring to the Guardians retheme in DL. Her opinion on a much lighter theme leaving DHS's tower looking pretty much the same is unknown.

2. Ariana's opinion is no more special than anyone else's.

3. Plenty of people who were against the DL retheme were pleasantly surprised by the ride. Some liked the new ride even tho they hated new exterior look.

4. The really big reason people initially hated the retheme was that it stood out as not thematically belonging in the DCA neighborhood. That has been corrected with Avengers Campus, and yet, it still gets criticized for being out of place even tho it's now anchoring AC.

5. Ariana thinks Groot is just Baby Groot and female. So, there's her credentials to be wading into this debate. See #2.

We suggested this as a joke on our "What to do with the Muppets" podcast. Make it self referential about the failures of the Star cruiser.

More practical suggestions were removing the Mickey Shorts theater show and replacing that with a Muppets show, making them a DHS party exclusive series of characters, or changing Sci-Fi Dine In to Muppets Dine In.

As a fan of Sci-Fi, I'd prefer Muppets not invade.

Announcing attractions are closing don’t feel like D23 material. Not sure why we suspected we’d get that from Brazil.

RoA and TSI came two days after the “good news”.
My thinking they are going to have to announce where Monsters are going someday and maybe they would sneak it into the Brazil D23.

My next guesses for days to sneak out the news saying Muppets will be destroyed thinking folks will be distracted are:
Any random Friday after 5PM Eastern time.
Thanksgiving day.
Christmas Eve, Christmas day.
New Years Eve, New Years day.
Jan 6th 2025 ;)

There was some expectation that a new project may have been announced at D23, which would have then prompted an update on the Disney Parks site, perhaps a few days later, on the closing of something else.

But I agree that a closing announcement would not have made sense directly at D23.

Is this project off the table entirely?

Hello Kitty doesn't seem very popular in the US, at least not what it's like in Asian countries.
Hello Kitty is incredibly popular in the US, especially with the addition of her other friends.

Do you know what a Cinnamoroll is? If you step foot into a Five Below or something like that, you'd see a whole aisle wiped clean of anything with his face on it because he's ridiculously popular. Sanrio sells Big Time BUT... yeah it's nowhere near it's what it's like in Asian countries because most places (sans Hollywood and soon Los Angeles which will have permanent Hello Kitty store locations) can't really support a full time HK store.

I do believe a Sanrio Store in Citywalk would've worked better than one trapped in Studios Florida, but this is a WDW board, why am I talking about Universal?!
