Dang it...just when my cynicism starts to peak and my curmudgeonly surliness is nearing it's zenith I go and listen to this. EPCOT is always our first stop and despite it's decrepit condition by comparison to my most favorite memories of 1996 it still embodies all of what I hope to see once again someday at WDW...

The Legacy loop at the Entrance plaza always is a good one.....However It's been taken over by horrendous Depatment store holiday music that makes you want to gouge your ears with q-tips.....:banghead:

Personally I do enjoy one specfic loop in the extended loop of Innoventions called "Global Neighborhood" They do play it at the tail end of the 19 min loop that normally plays and they actually have seperate tracks..And I really like how realxing it sounds..

Disney's got a musical, magical way of putting us all in a wonderful state of mind.

I pull the Epcot Entrance loop up on youtube when I'm having a rough day. It instantly puts me in a better mood. Usually my stresses are caused by work. The nice thing about this music is that it also reminds me of why I work as hard as I do. Not everyone has the cash or even the realistic ability to earn the cash to go to WDW. I'm blessed to be able to say that I have the ability to earn the cash if I work hard enough for it. Some days when the work gets overwhelming, listening to this loop gives me a goal and a reason to push through.

EPCOT music in general i have always felt was excellent.
Since the Park first opened, most of the music associated with the Pavilions, Lands, and specific Attractions has all been wonderfully orchestrated and quite memorable.
Even some of the material created in the 90s and early 2000's has been decent.

I think the only Loop that still kind of makes me scratch my head is the original Land loop that played outside of the Pavilion.
Funky and with somewhat jarring shifts in tempo and tune...but with some good spots as well.
The impression while listening to it is a real mishmash of hard-edged late 70s keyboard work, along with some surrealistic overtones of mellowness in other spots.

What is funny is just a few years ago i noticed this loop was STILL playing outside of the Land.
It was surreal ! Not sure if it still is....but for those not familiar with it, here is a sample :

The first few minutes are quite nice...but then it gets all crazy.
Enjoy, and savor the nostalgic ambiance !

:)

You know what I'd like to find is the loop playing inside the Land. I love that music! For whatever reason, my family ends up eating in that pavilion multiple times every trip. Each time, I just like to sit there and listen to that music. But, I've never been able to find the loop on youtube. :(

The same goes at The Imagination Pavilion original loop...The only place to hear it...Is in the Hidden Bathrooms on the far west side of the pavilion..It's always empty when I have been there and it's a time portal to when said attraction was good...But, when you leave it.....Your back into a place where you just wish the ride was still the same...

Indeed, and i just love stepping into those restrooms.
I hope that loop is never changed out. Such a joy to hear that still playing in there !

Now you are talking!

:)

Like i was saying in a previous post, EPCOT always had some stellar music associated with it.

The Horizons Pavilion, in my humble opinion, had some of the most beautifully composed music ever recorded for a 'theme park experience'.
How anyone can listen to some of the orchestrated musical compositions created for the Attraction itself and not be moved to tears...is difficult to understand.

One Little Spark...
Innoventions is one of my favorite looks. Especially hearing the song on the way out of the park after the Illuminations crowds has left.

The score for Horizons encapsulates in musical form everything we love about Disney and everything Walt Disney could have ever wanted for EPCOT. Of course, Disney removed the music and demolished Horizons into a little cube, but I guess it's best not to dwell on such minutiae.

I'd also would love to hear the Former Entrance loop again in the park..Every time I hear the opening with Energy just get's you all excited with the strings and hard guitar and electric sounding mix of the early 80's..

One of the (many) awesome things that happened when we all celebrated EPCOT's 25th Anniversary back in 2007 was hearing that original entrance loop start playing in the entrance area to the Park.

I was being interviewed by someone that morning before the Event really started near the check-in tables before the turnstiles and at around 9 am all of a sudden the loop starting playing.
It was a total geek-out moment of realization.

I remember stopping mid-sentence during the interview and just making a face of pure astonishment at what i was hearing.
My interviewer did the same thing, and we were stunned.

The already large crowd of fans waiting around to be let into the Park totally geeked out too.
It was GREAT !

A memorable moment for sure.
Played all day that day...October 1st, 2007.

If i am remembering correctly, the original EPCOT Center entrance loop was also played for the 30th Anniversary a few years ago.
