We don't have pierogies in the UK. Though it's one of the things my sister found recently when she moved from Boston MA to PA. She loves them.

Just think of them as Polish ravioli

I like to make home made for Easter, but otherwise I buy the Mrs T brand or go to the Polish deli in town, they make a huge batch on Sunday nights. :slurp:

Friday Morning it's-my-day-off!- huggles all!

Glad to see everyone behaved last night - good work keeping them in line Bonny!

Freddy - good choice of language - I took French in HS and college (Not that I remember much of it now) They've cut back languages so bad at Connor's school that he actually had to take Fench this year!

Connor - The 3 kids that I take care of still call their maternal grandparents Oma and Opa, but apparently not all their cousins do. Is that something that just gets dropped at a certain age or something?

Anyone have any leftover pierogies? They're a Christmas Eve tradition here for my BIL's in-laws, and we always get leftover ones from them to have with Christmas dinner. :slurp:

Dot - how were the pretend Beatles or whatever? Was is like the Beatlemania thing that still tours ( I think it's coming back here this summer)?

Brad - sorry you have such long meetings to attend. Other than that, do you like the job?

Joe - hope you're feeling better!

There, I think that catches me up!

TGIF *huggles* from school.

Oh...I forgot to tell this group...but I got replaced yesterday as French teacher. They found someone who can come in every day (who's also a sub and who's never really taught  but has a bachelor's) so today I'm subbing the dance class woo hoo :p

It's better for me this way because it relieves me of a lot of responsibility, but I just feel bad for the kids because they have to get used to another routine again.

Sorry to hear this Regina. You had such great ideas to make it fun and interesting for them! :(
 Honestly, after I mispronounced chemistry yesterday, I realized it's for the best. Also, I was running out of things to do with the beginning class, and I didn't want to stress myself out for nothing. Again, I just feel bad for the kids, who were pretty much upset when I told them  (well...most of them seemed it anyway :lookaroun)

I'm sure they'll miss you!

It's funny about kids that age though - it really seems like they value consistantcy above all else. Back in the day when I used to teach, it never failed - the kids who I really had to be tough on were the kids who were the most grateful to have me back if I had ben out for any lenght of time. I had surgery one year and was out for 3 weeks straight. My worst class couldn't do enough for me when I returned. Go figure!

Yeah...consistency is huge with them...that's why I feel bad, but what can I do?

I was talking to a friend of ours last night who's a retired teacher who went back to sub "occasionally". She ended up on a long term job at my son's high school for a teacher who had "certification problems". Apparently those problems were resolved some 3 months later, so she said her good-byes and the other teacher returned. The next day she was called to return to that classroom since the original teacher had shown up "impaired". So she put in another 3 weeks with the kids. Now the original teacher is supposed to be returning today, so she doesn't know how long this will last this time. I'm just glad my son is not in her class!

Friday Morning HUGGLES to everyone.

Not feeling the best today.:(

We are supposed to get between 3-7 inches of snow tonight, depending on where it decides to fall. My dogs will absolutely love it......but I will not.

Well...atleast the snowblower is ready to go.

*HUGGLES*:)

I really don't know. It's just the way it is. Oddly, though, we still called my great grandparents by the German name. I might try to ask my MomMom why that is next time I see her.
