Cubs win!

The Marlins?! The Marlins?!
This better not be one of those underdog victories that they play on espn for years to come. The Cubs are the better team and they deserve to win. Prior is going to destroy tomorrow.

By the way, does anyone else want to punch Pudge Rodriguez in the face?

Now look at what thread I've stumbled upon.....:D

Well seeing as the whole world would love to see a Red Sox and Cubs world series....I have to play spoiler here and say that it will be Yankees and Marlins.

If anything the Cubs got lucky a couple of times last night at the game...the fish had a ton of opportunities to score more runs and didn't...all I can say is that it will be one heck of a series.....

BTW give the Marlins a break...they are a great team with the best record in baseball since the last week of May.....and need I remind you the Marlins come from a highly competitive division and we still made it out....with a better record than the Cubs.....

Both are great teams and deserve to be where they are today....may the best team win...

Go FISH!!!!!!!

So... your record was better then ours... BFD. Its playoff time now.

Give us a break... we have not won a world series since 1908... and I think we deserve this.

It was a VERY/tight close game. It was only game one...

*sniff* Smells good in here! :D

No offense to any Marlins fans out there, but I think alot of baseball fans out there would love to see the two biggest hardluck teams in baseball history battle it out.

After all, 1997 was a good year for the Fish and y'all won it all. But to suffer for 95 and 85 years is a very loooooong time.

Florida's got some good, young talent and deserves alot of respect but I think it's time for the Cubs and Sox to play for the champeeeeeeeen-chip. :D

OK, diehard Yankee fan here (just in case you didn't already know ) and I have to say the "whole world" is not rooting for a Cubs/Sox series.
The Cubs got lucky...maybe, but your fish got sloppy.

This is post season and all that matters is what you do in October.
The teams that have made it this far all deserve to be here. The games have been great. When the smoke clears then the best team will stand victorious.

And thats why the game is soooo great. These guys play their hearts out everyday. Why else would I stay up so late to watch a game with teams I don't even root for? So many times we commented last night that it seemed like game 7 of the series.
Tonight: NY vs Boston. Hope my heart can take it.

Well I don't know if it means anything...but the last ten years the team that won game 1 went to the world series.....
:lookaroun

I'm not saying the Marlins are going to sweep the Cubs...cause the Cubs have a great team....but it should be interesting to see what happens.

*puts hunting cap on, takes shot gun, goes cub huntin'*

Isn't this the first October the Yanks have played Boston since they were always in the same division before they expanded the playoffs? Or did you eliminate the Sox in 1999? I'll probably find the answer before you respond!

Yes, the Sox lost to the Yanks in 99 in the ALCS in 5 games.
