We are going to WDW May 30-June 5. Hopefully the crowds will be light. We have been during Spring Break and during Thanksgiving, so we know what high crowds are like. Anyone can tell us what the crowds would be like during this time? Thanks!

Crowds look to be moderate on just 1 or 2 days and high the others. Also, for your information, June 3 - 6 is Gay Days at the parks. Do not where red unless that is your thing.

Crowds will not be light but they will be better than later in the month. You will want to check the gay days website for their schedule and avoid the parks that they are planning to be at. This is not because they will be doing anything wrong or improper but simply because those parks will be packed on those days.

Is it really bad! I have 2 daughters (10 & 12). If so, I am going to change our dates.
No, it is not that bad. The reality is that there are no more slow times a WDW. You trip is scheduled right before most schools let out so the crowds will be at moderate levels but they will not be so non-existent that you will be able to walk on Space Mountain at noon.

Is what bad?

We were at Disney May 31 - June 6, 2009. It was both Gay Days and Star Wars Weekends while we were there. It was the second largest crowds we have encountered at Disney (the largest were at Easter) and it was HOT, but we still had a wonderful time! If that was my best option, I'd go back at that time in a heartbeat.

If you are assuming Gay Days is bad, I'll tell you that unless I had *known* it was going on, I would never have *known* it was going on.

If you assume the crowds are bad, I'll say that it was the first time we used the "go to the parks early, go back to your hotel to relax in the afternoon, & come back in the evening" plan, but it worked out fine and we had a great time!

Let me know if you have more questions. Have a great trip! :)

It is not bad during Gay days just avoid the crowds at the park they are going to that day there web site will help avoid this. We only had one time we had to explain why 2 men were kissing other then that it was only the one time. But be sure to bring rain gear it does rain a little bit more.

In before the lock. We've been to WDW during gay days and aside from some hand holding, we haven't seen much public displays of affection. We did avoid the parks that we're scheduled to be inundated which we found on some website. I certainly wouldn't change my trip dates around this.

Been in late May/early June twice, the crowds are usually moderate, you may even hit the closest thing WDW has to a light day outside of January/February. Both times we went Gay Days were on, and didn't even notice it. Only found out once I was back and read it online.

Like erstwo said the best way too mange things that time of year, especially with the heat and humidity is to take mid day breaks. That way you avoid the muggy weather and the biggest crowds for the day. Go to the parks early, leave around 1-ish then return around 5 or 6. You'll still have 7-8 hours in the Parks (maybe more with EMH). Park hopper tickets will help maximize time doing this as AK always closes early and sometimes so does MK and the Studios.

Also if you plan to take some days away from the parks for shopping and what not, plan to do those things on Saturdays or Sunday. There is a noticeable jump in attendance on the weekends. If you have something else you want to do, that's the day to do it. At the very least you will definitely want to avoid the water parks on the weekends at that time of year.

Isn't part your trip on memorial day weekend?? I would think that the parks on that weekend would be busy, especially with star wars weekend going on. Never been to the world on or around Memorial day so I can't speak from experience. Anyone ever go on Memorial day weekend, if so how were the crowds??

Hi there!

My DH and I went last year the first week of June. The crowds were really light at the beginning. By the time we left, on June 14th, they were really picking up. But the first part - we would walk on to almost every ride right away!
