All,

We will be going to Disney 10-19 May. Below is my list of ADRs. Family consists of myself, DW, 3 DS (11, 9, 9) and 1 DD (5). I wanted to fit in Via Napoli but I am not sure there is anything on this list I want to drop. I have included a (new) on places we have not been to before and (fave) on places we love and absolutely must go to.

May 10: Dinner at Kona Cafe (new)
11: Dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe (new)
12: Dinner at Tony's Town Square (new)
13: Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare (new)
14: Dinner at 50's Primetime Cafe (fave)
15: Dinner at Ohana's (new)
16: Dinner at Garden Grill Restaurant (fave)
17: Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine (been here but not since the charactes change)
Dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater (new)
18: Quick Service

Thanks for your feedback

I think you will be very happy with your choices. Kona Cafe is always good to me regardless of the time of day. Whispering Canyon Cafe is my group's #1 favorite. Ohana is good and a regular on our rotation but not as good as it was in the past - still, the banana bread pudding is excellent.

The same is true to us of Garden Grill and Prime Time. We do them routinely but they seem to have not been as good recently. What is your experience?

Aside from the character interaction, 1900 was a "meh" for us. We wanted a character buffet and not Chef Mickey's and that was the one we chose. We all thought the food was just not all that great but that has been my experience with all WDW buffets, so maybe I just need to stay away from buffets. LOL

Sci-Fi is a fun experience. Food is so-so and for whatever reason, that place seems to have the slowest seating of any restaurant at WDW. Still, we like it.

Go. Eat. Be Merry. You made good choices.

We have only done two of your choices. Breakfast at Hollywood & Vine and Sci Fi. We loved both places. Breakfast was very entertaining, our 3 year old loved the characters. The food was yummy too! Sci Fi was a great experience. Even though people say the food isn't great there we thought it was delicious.

Our experience at Garden Grill and 50's have been great which is why it is a must do every time for us. Garden Grill's food is amazing and although we don't eat the seafood that comes on the plate they always substitute it with something else for us. The characters I find to be the most energetic and entertaining out of all the character dinners we have been to.

As for 50's, I love their chicken and their pot roast. I got the dad's brownie sundae last year and man was that good. I would go back just for that but we love the atmosphere, I love it when they tell my kids that if they don't eat their dinner they won't get their dessert. Our waiter went as far as to spoon feed my kids last year to have them finish their plate. It was hilarious.

When did you go and have not stellar service? We haven't been to either since May of 2010, which was our last trip to Disney. If you have had bad service since then (hopefully not) we might have to check around and reconsider.

My experience was prior to your last trip during my visit in October, 2009. The menu at Garden Grill is ever changing which can be a good thing but can also be a bad thing. I can't remember what we had specifically but I think it was some sort of brisket-like beef, maybe turkey and dressing and a broiled fish. We have been eating there for about 10 years and just did not like those offerings as much, not that they were even that different from previous visits but they were bland and the meat was very fatty. But the bigger issue was that there was 6 of us and they hardly brought enough for everyone to get everything and you basically had to tackle them to get more. Dessert took so long to arrive we decided to forego it entirely and I guess because we are all adults, the characters just waved and walked by and had to be called back to spend time with the first timers in my group.

At Prime Time, which has always been oneof my all time favorites, the portion size was very, very small for the pot roast and I know that because I have never gotten anything else. LOL. Again the server was rushed and impersonal - and I say that without meaning that she did not act in character for the restaurant, she was just....impersonal.

Contrast that with Whsipering Canyon where the server was excellent and when we asked for additional brisket, he brought out an entire, full size skillet. (And I don't mean the small skillets for anyone that has ever been there and knows what I mean.)

I have liked my meals at 1900, 50's and Sci-fi.
I did not enjoy my dinner at Tony's, but that was 6 years ago.
