Thank you. They are for a game called Imperial Assault by Fantasy Flight Games. Iā€™ll be posting more minis so warn him.
He mentioned the game but didn't know the name. I know they sell a lot of paintable figures at the card shop he plays Magic at (I feel so bad that he hasn't been able to play Magic since before the shut-down...he had one friend over to play a couple of times during the summer because they could play outside, but it's not the same, and it's too cold now for that). My older son is DYING for us to get a 3D printer so he can make custom video game figures.

Well, I'm not nearly as professional at crafting as you all seem to be!

Here's a necklace I made several years ago. I saw one on a you tube video, but they didn't show how to make it, so I watched other tutorials and figured it out.

Some friends and I did an ornament craft exchange one year. We were all on a Harry Potter fan forum, so that's why I made Hagrid's Hut.

I made these to go with a new dress. I also now have a matching necklace, but I don't have a picture of it.

Here are a bunch of ears my daughter and I made for our 2019 trip.

Yeah. COVID put a end to that stuff for a while. most of the tabletop miniature games I have can be played solo...although Iā€™ve been so busy building and painting the minis and building terrain I havenā€™t even played any. Lol.

Sorry, forgot to add that I have forgone the idea of using the 3D printer for figures. PLA printers just donā€™t cut it. You need a really good resin printer for that, and for me itā€™s just easier to buy them.

That necklace is beautiful!

I forgot, I took up jewelry making a few years ago. Have a whole plastic cart full of supplies and somehow donā€™t find time to work on it much anymore.

I offered to re-learn to play (I used to play...way, way back when I was around 22-25-ish? I had an Angel/Vampire deck that kicked some major butt), but he knows I'm not a huge fan, and he knows he has a hard time not being cut-throat...so it's probably for the best. Our sons have shown zero interest in actually playing anything card-related, but they like collecting PokƩmon cards just to collect them. Friday nights were his card night, the kids got to stay up late, and I did a live-feed in my Disney FB group, and Saturday nights the kids went to bed early and that was "mom & dad night" for us to watch a movie or whatever we felt like doing. We all miss those days.

I suspect that upon research, I'd find that I'd want a resin printer for the stuff I want to do, too...I'm pretty obsessive when it comes to anything I make. My older son's school has 2 3D printers, and they've made some figures with them...I'll have to get him to ask some questions about them.

Love that necklace! I got into beadwork when I lived in a teepee (yes, a real one) for 6 months and studied Native American life on the plains...bought tons of supplies and made quite a few things (don't have any of them anymore)...but I do still have the supplies and a beading loom. I tried making earrings a few times over the years, but I could never get them to keep their shape very well.

Iā€™ve avoided most ā€œcollectibleā€ games, but not all. Itā€™s usually a case of new items coming out and the older ones get phased out so you are forced into constantly buying the new stuff.

That part of it makes my head explode. The only reason I don't freak about it is because 1) he loves it so much, 2) he pays his tournament fees every week and gets a certain number of card packs and also wins card packs most times, and 3) because he loves it so much.
