Some of these appeared in my first round of cake pics, but I really love sculpting in gumpaste. I have this bizarre connection with sketching and sculpting. If I can draw it, I can also usually sculpt it. It's one of the best ways I can test in advance to know if a cake decoration concept is going to work.

I made two shoes. I don't know why, but I remember sitting there marveling at it thinking...Wow! I made a shoe!

He is still one of my all time faves.

I was kind of sad when the kids bit off his head and ate him.

From one of the worst cakes I've ever made, but some really fun sugar sculpting.

I'll share the cake later, but Wookiee the Chew was another fave. I really wanted to save him.

These were the figures inside the snowglobe. We ate the snowman and the tree, but my friend still has the penguin on display.

I previously shared a pic of the Brazarre cake. The bra on top is 100% edible and probably the hardest edible piece I've ever made. I used a real bra to cut out all of the pieces and let them harden over top of the bra to get their proper forms. The cups and the pieces that look like stitching had to be stamped out before I could start the drying. Assembly had a lot of tears. The whole thing took weeks, but obviously, I managed to keep it together and it remained intact for the 35 mile trip to the art auction.

Lots more to come :)
Sculpting is not in my skill set...at all. Good work.

Ok. The start of a new project, and you all get (have?) to follow along.

Minis for a game called Journeys In Middle Earth. The models came in one piece, so I did not have to build them. So far just some ground texturing for the bases before I prime them.

Clarification: Your finished project is awesome.

and I’m glad to know another cross -stitcher.

😁

haha! I understood what you meant and thanks! I agree needle work is becoming a lost art. Although about 5 years ago our Walmart decreased the needlework section in the crafts area and a couple months later they brought back a bunch of supplies so maybe enough people complained. I also crochet as well.

I found a couple pictures of cakes I was looking for when I was looking through my pictures for something totally unrelated. So I thought I would post them now. One was my daughter's 10th birthday cake, which she designed herself and I'm pretty sure she helped decorate it, too. The other was for my son, but I don't remember which year...he was into soccer for a long time and I had to make soccer cakes a lot.
