I didnt see this anywhere here yet, but Vanessa Williams is no longer on the CP Narrator list for December 12-13th. It is now Kirk Cameron.
Was looking forward to seeing her but Kirk Cameron was fantastic last time. Maybe she will be back next year.

I hope my Mom and Grandmother dont find out. They will try and change all my plans to go an see him instead of when Andy Garcia is there.

Just as a note: the only part of this that is officially confirmed is that Vanessa Williams will NOT be performing. The narrator spot is still listed as TBD on the official site and no official communication has been sent out regarding the new narrator. Even though this is spreading around the Disney fan sites, I would not take it as fact until it is officially released.

As always, narrators are subject to change without notice.

Does anyone know what happened with Vanessa Williams? She had been advertised in all the holiday literature sent to passholders as being one of the new narrators this season. I had arranged my schedule & Candlelight dining reservations around seeing her, and was looking forward to hearing her read.

I did a couple of shows with him when he narrated in 2006. He was really good--one of the better narrators. He didn't get too preachy, if that's what some are worried about.

I seen him in 07.. and he was VERY preachy... man was his pushing his agenda.

Has Andy Garcia read in past years? If so, how was he?

We had the choice between him and Vanessa during our trip next week, and I went with Andy. Now I'm really glad I did since there is a last-minute change, although I wouldn't mind Kirk either.

We saw the show in 2006 with Gary Sinise. While I am a huge fan of his work, I wasn't too impressed with his performance that Christmas Eve. He just tends to be dry, which is actually how many of his characters come off to me.

Another question. We opted not to go with a dining package since we will be bringing our 16 month old and that makes things unpredictable. If she is cooperating, how long do you think we need to wait in line to get a seat at the one of the Thursday night shows? Should we just stand outside and enjoy the music?

He was really sick that year for the performances, which may have contributed to his performance

Of the three shows, the 8:15 tends to be the least crowded. You might have a shot at walking into the theater with a relatively short wait. Try checking out the line during the 6:45 show. If it's too long, you may be better served standing in the rear of the theater.

There were a couple celebs I was surprised to not see listed this year: Gary Sinese and Neil Patrick Harris being among them but as for Kirk Cameron and his agenda I can't see that coming out too bad as the script is very detailed and the closing words of the narrator tend to be very brief. The guy who checked me in at the Pop Century told me that he feels the show does not belong in a theme park which I definitely respect that opinion but it's a tradition going back since 1958 and I would like to see it continue.

I might understand that except that Disney has celebrations at EPCOT for many diffrent faiths. There is a Haunakak and Kwansi celebration at the American pavailion.

And obviously people enjoy it. It's packed everytime. And it's not like it's for everyone. As a matter if fact you have to go out of
you way big time (either expensive package or waiting in a huge line) to attend.
