Rumor Country Bear Jamboree to be Replaced by Toy Story Show?

First off, by that logic, a blogger could slap "RUMOR" onto nonsense they want to make up and you'd say they're not at fault.

Which is precisely what has happened for 25 years and isn’t likely to subside as long as people click.

What I call “screamscapian”.

1. Think up something, along what you think “makes sense” to you.

2. Claim they’re gonna do it based on “sources”

3. Put in a timeline

4. Claim “we’re heading changes”

5. Update timeline

6. Repeat step 4

7. Repeat step 5

8. Eventually ignore it ever happened or say “turns out X happened and they shelved it”

And just maybe...if you stretch it out long enough...maybe the fates make you right.

It is a pattern...for sure. You just have to decide what seems legit and what does not.

Well based on the delayed response from Disney it sounds like the idea was being played with.
I disagree. Disney does not monitor rumors like a paranoid mother watching over a toddler. Disney only steps in when they get blasted with thousands of emails, phone calls and messages.

What made up rumors like this do is they give Disney the ideas and then those in charge of making such decisions sit back and ponder if they should monkey with something people love to save money or bring in that coveted IP.

I think Tron was always intended as the only new build at the MK for the 50th. Everything else will be enhancements, temp stuff and overlays.

They are rather busy adding attractions to Epcot and DHS.
Logically speaking, this is probably the most likely scenario. Whatever the 50 new things Disney had in mind for the 50th would probably be set in stone by now in order for their campaign to work.

That being said, I still have questions about how all of this came about in the first place. Hopefully, insiders who know more about this situation can give us a more complete picture of what was going on behind the scenes.

Enhancements is what MK needs. Show and uptime upgrades to compete with the shiny new toys added around the world (both the Disney one and the Earth one). It does need capacity, yeah, but crowds need to be drawn from it to other parks, who in turn need more capacity.

Balance out those millions of guests between the four properties.

And I imagine they try to. MK is the top dog, who people will book entire trips around. I can't imagine if/when it'll ever be different.

Can we just never mention the other site on here??? I don’t even know the site but with the amount of horse ish they seem to post, I’d go with they are as reliable with information as my cat is with gossip.... (she’s not reliable, she just walks around and stares at me and meows about squirrels that are dating and a raccoon that appears to be an abusive alcoholic... I have yet to meet any of the wildlife she sees out the window (she’s an indoor only cat so she can’t even ask them questions or directly interact with them) but I’m sure she is just assuming things).

Btw I heard that swge is already being replaced with an all animated Popeye land they are trading the entire Star Wars franchise to universal for, plus a 6 pack of bud light and $50 in Denmark kroner.

These rumors probably actually helped keep these attractions safe because I am sure they got plenty of emails, otherwise they wouldn't be addressing it. When they realize that consumers will be happier with them not spending money on a new attraction, it is easier for them to just keep them open. Their thinking is probably why add a "free" Moana experience when they can add her to an upcharge event or character meal. But honestly, I am relieved that they're not adding yet another Toy Story attraction outside of Toy Story Land.

Let's review the various scenarios that may have actually played out here.

1. Corless made it up - Probably unlikely
2. This was fed to Corless as a means of snuffing out a leak - Possible
3. This was a real project and Disney was trying to gauge interest by leaking it to Corless - Possible
4. This was a real project and someone inside Disney was trying to put it out there anticipating it would result in a letter writing campagin - Possible
5. This was a real project that was going to be announced at the D23 Expo and they got cold feed after Corless put it out there and the reaction wasn't what they expected - Unlikely

The smart money is on option 2.

Didn’t others even on here confirm the Bears Story at least? If that’s the case then 3 or 4 is the likely scenario no?

I would say it's more likely an unknown third party made it up, and it was repeated without any kind of vetting.

It wasn’t made up. Just very misunderstood.
Probably misunderstood like Stitch becoming a meet and greet !

It happened before with the imaginary docked riverboat converted to a Tiana restaurant...despite having no kitchen, no proper construction to meet code standards, and being in a land themed to the 1770s.
