Rumor Country Bear Jamboree to be Replaced by Toy Story Show?

This isn’t about getting rid of animatronics
I’m more curious of whether it would be two shows replaced with two new shows or with a single new attraction. The combined facility is pretty big, but assuming Pecos Bill would stay, it’s not as big as MK E ticket ride buildings. Replacing two shows with one ride of the scale of a Fantasyland dark ride seems silly, so I assume it would be one or two shows.

This attraction is a classic and one that I remember sitting at with my parents when I was a kid. I go every visit we make which is yearly but my kids don’t have the same love for it as I do.

The generations that have been going for decades that started as the kids when the parks first opened are not the long term client of these parks. It pains me to say it but it is true.

WDW has to evolve has to. We need to see new rides in expansions pads plus old rides need to change and evolve to keep the parks fresh and current.

Country bear should not be first in the toss it to the curb list but at some point it will have to be cut or changed to freshen it up to make it remotely viable to the next generations.

It also sounds like soft bookings at WDW and DL - if that continues after Rise of the Resistance opens, I would absolutely expect more discounts and/or a rollback on some pricing.
Soft bookings from September on after SWGE premiere?

Do we really know that? Have they put anything into the Stitch attraction space yet? (other than moving his M/G indoors?) Disney has a habit of leaving things closed for an extended period of time before replacing it.
SGE closed because it sucked and was hated. CBJ would close to be replaced.

This can't be happening....

Noo....

It makes me wonder why Disney thinks Toy Story is eternal as opposed to the Birds and the Bears, two IPs that were made specifically for the Parks. They are two concepts that nobody can experience outside of the Parks (aside from that regrettable Bears movie). Meanwhile underperforming purchases like the Muppets and their theater remain (back off, puppet fans, I'm not interested in your obsessed ravings). This is stupid beyond belief, especially in the case of the Birds. Although I suppose the Birds will remain in Disneyland if the newly-built Terrace is anything to go by. But still, this sounds as stupid as the Incredibles ride in Pixar Pier. A focus on IPs as opposed to Park originals. Makes me wonder if Pirates would be destroyed if it hadn't been for the success of the movies based on them. Pathetic.

Toy Story is eternal because toys are eternal. Play is a basic part of the human experience (as well as for many animals). Humans have a more visceral connection to toys than to birds or bears.

Doesn't hurt that Toy Story has brought in billions of dollars, too.

That being said, I'd rather they remove the tree house and the Aladdin spinner and the shops across from Dole Whip Plaza and make that into whatever TS attraction may be coming. The tree fort and the spinner are much more let-go-able than two longstanding AA shows. The Tiki Room can be refreshed with a light Moana-referenced overlay and the CBJ can be refreshed with a new (seasonal) song set.

In the armchair imagineering below, the blue is the diverted canal, the grey is the new Adventurland walkway and plaza, and the red is the footprint of a new attraction the same size as Tiki and Bears....

Though once a reputable source says (or alludes...which is a low budget way of doing) that something is a “go” and then backs it off 2 years later with a “priorities changed”...then credibility suffers.

I think you mean Disney's own credibility. They only just recently announced a Main Street Theatre, threw up walls and then quietly 'changed priorities'.

You can't blame the messengers.

1) WHY can they not update the freaking DHS shows first, for the love of god.
2) I assume this started as an update for Toy Story Playland along with the restaurant and migrated to Magic Kingdom to save some money.
They want people to LEAVE DHS, not stay. That’s why they keep adding new entertainment elsewhere.

Found this on YouTube from 2 months ago. Hopefully if the residents of Grizzly Hall are to keep their contract, they also negotiate a new sound system out of the deal. It’s pretty shameful an opening day attraction is allowed to operate in this state: Underscoring is so quiet, it’s practically non-existent in places. During Little Buford, you can only really hear Henry clearly. And the animation/figures have seen better days.

I can remember a family trip from the early 2000s where we had to wait for Mansion to reopen due to the effects in the seance circle malfunctioning. Apparently this is acceptable now. Not trying to start boarding everyone on the hate train, but wow.
