Though I can't afford to go to WDW on the 26th to take in the last show, I'm sure there will be people recording it.

I'm curious if the last show for the original CBJ will be like when Disneyland's closed with a very active audience just singing along and reciting the lines through the whole show heh.

Hope people here will go down to cover the original CBJ's final night.

Yes
If one bear song does indeed stay…are we pretty sure it’s blood on the saddle?

Side note did this for the first time in many years yesterday and was a lot better then I remembered it being. Could use a technology upgrade.
I had assumed it would either be “Bear Band Serenade” or “Hope That You’ll Be Comin’ Back Again”

I meant what I said, though—I enjoy hearing the clicks and clacks. They sound very vintage to me.
And that to me seems almost like enjoying evidence of subpar maintenance. I just really can't get behind that. Maybe things really have always been like that in the states even in the 70s or whenever, but again, Tokyo, bound to the maintenance standards of the US parks circa the time of Epcot's construction, suggests otherwise.

Now, in fairness, despite the narrative that everything is always perfect in Tokyo, they too sometimes have issues-when I was last in Tokyo, in 2019, all of the FL dark ride vehicles on Pinocchio and Snow White would stop at load and unload with a nice loud squeak coming from the bottom of the car, that sounded as though the ride vehicles were literally scraping against the floor as they stopped. Hopefully that has subsequently been dealt with. There's just much, MUCH less of things like that than in the domestic parks. You really can't look at the stateside parks the same way again once you know that there's a 98% chance the exact same show/effect/whatever is functioning flawlessly in Japan, where the ticket is only roughly $50 a person on top of all that. So if I seem an ungrateful cynic, there's a reason for it, I promise you.
In MK, the clackety sounds are mostly notable if you're on the right side of the theater. The three trophy heads are the worst culprits for the clacks.
Absolutely. It may well have been occurring for other figures too, but it's always been unmistakable from the three heads when I've visited. Yet another issue that seemingly did not exist in Tokyo when I visited.

But I also noticed this past trip to DL that hydraulic hisses and such were very noticeable in, say, HM when the ride audio was paused for safety announcements. It makes me wonder if they've raised the volume on many of their attractions over the years to compensate for poorer showmanship.

In 1989. you would certianly not hear any of the clacking you here today.

A part of the problem is the bad audio quality of the speakers as well, that are meant in part to cover up such things.

No
How's this for CBMJ...

My gosh, I really hope they take this opportunity to make the Sun Bonnets stop looking like this:

And start looking like this again:

I saw two showings of the Bears yesterday at Magic Kingdom, and can confirm reports of the show being in rough shape.

Probably the poorest operational condition I have seen to date, and I see this show every time I visit the Park, and that has been a LOT of times over the past 45 or so years!
It is my favorite Show based Attraction in the Park and I know what it is supposed to look like.
This ain’t it.

Lots of mechanical / movement issues.
Sadly reminds me of the condition Disneyland’s ‘Splash Mountain’ was in during its last few weeks of operation…so this is apparently standard procedure with a AA based Attraction when it is about to get a refurb or refresh.

Still, what has happened to the ‘Show’ Key?
Guests do notice these things.

Glad I had the chance to see it a couple more times before the transition but some real restoration work needs to happen.
Big Al is particular has many of his movements out, and the Sun Bonnets need quite a bit of attention.
Just….wow.
😐

In happier news…
The Enchanted Tiki Room looked terrific.
Almost all movements working, figures in great shape.
After viewing the Bears this was a good thing to see.

noticed this with the tiki room last week as well, looked and sounded excellent. Best thing going on property just about and the audience was even into it. Now about the lack of the fountain.....would it cost them that much to really bring that nice show feature back??? :banghead:

I'm guessing maybe the reason it will take till summer for the new version to be ready is to give the AAs a lot of work before they start programming? Can't reprogram the bears if their movements are out lol.

Also, on another note I'm curious why they chose to rename Liver Lips "Romeo." I know the obvious reason, but if they needed to change his name I wonder why they didn't just shorten it down to "L.L. McGrowl" or something. I wonder if Romeo has to do with whatever Disney song they picked for him.

The AAs are definitely getting some work done.
