I agree and disagree with your reason why we shouldn't have a cuba in there....but then again if you wanted a piece of cuba just drive down to miami (i'm cuban just if case your wondering).:) America should diffentely stay in their because it is america. I think egypt would be nice but that would make 2 northern african countries maybe we should put one from sub-saharra africa which would be different.

Russia
Greece
Egypt
S. Africa
Austrlia
Isreal
Iran-(I know but there is good history in that country)
Iraq-(think babylon)
Saudia Arabia
India
Brazil-(during carnival  )
Columbia
Haiti-(like somebody before me said, but mix it make the island of espanola so we can add Dominican Republic)
Jamacia-(think coffee, sugar cane)
and
finally we could get the UAE to gaurd the entrance to the theme park:hammer:

You know I really don't care but I think we do need another country. Somebody spin a globe and where ever your finger lands make that the next spot. :)

No, and on a related topic no one bothered to look at a map before talking about "how cool it would be to get an African country represented in WS" on a previous thread....you are not alone in your frustration my friend

I agree, if the American Pavillion was taken away, i wouldn't be to upset. For cryin out loud I'm already IN America.
Although the patrons who go to the American Pavilion are already IN America it grieves me to say that most of the people who are IN America don't know Jack Squat ABOUT America. I really like the American Adventure and I think it is the best attraction in the World Showcase.
There's also another reason why I think that the American Adventure along with the Hall of Presidents should be sacred cows . If you make even a cursory examination of Walt Disney's expectations on what Disneyland and Walt Disney World should be, you realize that he was absolutely passionate that people should know American History and the Constitution. Sadly, I have not seen American History taught very well in the public schools I've visited. I'm appalled at how little kids know about history.
Now I don't think that H of Pres. or Amer. Ad. should be looked at as a substitute for a good class on the fundementals of our history, but I've seen some young folk as well as older people have their curiousity struck in these attractions. I've seen some people find out for the first time that Washington and Lincoln weren't contemporaries and that the Declaration of Independence and Constitution are two seperate documents written thirteen years apart by two different men. Many people throughout the world look upon the U.S. as evil because we are the only super power in the world. But no one tries to examine WHY we're the only super power. What have we done that other countries haven't done as well to achieve the incredible prosperity that we enjoy.
I don't mean to lecture on and on but for heaven's sake DON'T TOUCH the AMERICAN ADVENTURE!!!
PPS. I don't think we should have the countries of North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Venezuala and Syria represented on the World Showcase. Not until they learn to play nice.

Very well said.:sohappy:

My bad :brick:!

In my defence, I was thinking about Middle-Eastern countries coming into WS, Morocco being a Muslim country didn't connect. Mea Culpa!

Interesting though, how do they rationalize the cultural issues of working during times that would be considered inappropriate?

I know what cha mean, but I know for the most part it's not their fault. They were probly never educated to understand that Africa is a countinet and that their are various countries in that continent. Including "arab countries". But thats why we are here to share our wealth of knowledge with those who never had the privilage to learn as we did. :)

Thanks for putting up with peoples ignorance...:)

It's cool, common mistake....:)

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle...:)

There is absolutely no need to remove a pavillon in order to build a new one!

There is enough land between China and Germany to build TWO pavillons.

There is also a spot available between Mexico and Norway, and another one between France and Morocco.

And may be one more between Italy and Germany.

So WS has the real estate to build at least four more pavillons, if not five.

I'd love to see Russia. I went to Moscow once, and since I'll probably never get to go back I'd like Epcot to let me pretend I'm there :)
What about all the people that come to Disney from other countries? This could be a little taste of America's history for them.
As for a new country, anything new is good enough for me! As long as it has a dark ride! And good food! And lots of shopping!:sohappy:

Firstly I'm not ripping anybody on their lack of geopolitical "knowleldge" but on the fact of people getting fustrated with other people because they lack that knowledge. My point is don't stress to much and help educate the person who most likely thanks to no fault of their own just were never taught. So since we have the knowledge should we not share it (obviously not forcefully, but just drop a gem of knowledge when you see someone lacks a little it of it)? I'm sure there is plenty of stuff you may know about that I would not know and would be very intrested in learning some of it. And lastly weren't you the one talking about adding Haiti as a country:wave: ? which I agreed. But my question is how someone or why someone from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com
><st1:State w:st=
Kentucky would ask about Haiti? </ST1:p
<ST1:p

<ST1:pYes my spellings horrible but your knowleldge seems to be on par with mines  </ST1:p

I understand. :) I guess it is sometimes hard to establish someone's tone in an e-mail. My apologies. Why did I throw Haiti out there? I was just trying to pick a country that may be a little more obscure than the obvious choices. I'm really no expert on Haiti or anything. I do think that Cuba would be good, but as long as the current political regime is in power, you are not going to see that come to fruition.

No of course not Cuba should not be put in now, but maybe in the future. And the reason I asked about Haiti because being from Miami I experince Haitian culture on a dialy basis? So I was just curious as to why you would ask that in Kentucky. But its cool no need for appologies:) . I read your public profile and it said your in the pharmaceuticals buisness well so am I. LOL

I am not going to comment on the remove American Pavilion thing, because it certainly won't ever happen, and rightly so.

My votes for new countries are for Spain, Australia, Greece, and most importantly Poland in the hopes that Nalewka Babuni Cherry Wine will be carried all year round. :sohappy: It's the best stuff.

epcot should add a country like GReece, someplace rich in history, myths, and stories. This would allow the imagineers to come up with a wide variety of attractions.

This is too good to pass up...

That's great, let's add a few of those really fun countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran and a few other Islamic States. Then we can watch Mickey whipping Minnie with a leather strap because she is wearing a skirt. Or maybe the little girls who visit "kidcot stops" can be beaten because they are learning something. Or how about a chorus of the Seven Dwarves chanting "Death to the Infidels!!!"

Sounds fun!!!

Yes, this is a "touchy" subject for us, yes we take it very personally, and we'd be willing to "throw-down" anytime for this great country. Whether on the world stage, in our hometown or even in EPCOT. If you want countries added thats great, even if you want those that we really don't care for, its your right to assert. But that right you have, is because of the country you live in, and to even suggest removing "The American Adventure" is disrespectful (to us at least) and down right shameful.

I know one country that should be in the World Showcase. Burkina Faso. A country everyone should know.

Ahh, Burkina Faso, how I miss the bustling market places of Oaugodugu. Never the less it will always be Upper Volta to me.

I would hate to see them remove the American exhibit to make way for more, when like other posters mentioned, there is room enough for new additions. I think some new additions would be nice, or expand on some of the current countries.

Ouagadougou is rather pleasant this time of year, isn't it?
