Dinosaur/CTX is still one of my favorites at WDW, but I see a lot of people mocking it for being Indiana Jones with Dinosaurs...So I personally think they should add on to Dinosaur (Or Countdown to Extinction as I like to call it) to a large scale.

You can keep the same show scenes from CTX 1.0., but more tracks would be added inbetween.

After the first Carnotaur attack, the time rover ends up in between a battle of a herd of Triceratops and a T-rex. Later on, you splash in the water, and to be attacked a plesiosaur. Another scene would include a face to face encounter with a carnotaur lunging over the Time Rover. An Anklyosaur would also try to ram you.

You can also think some ways to make CTX a truely dino-mite experience. :ROFLOL:

I doubt that there's any room inside to add multiple tracks. In fact, I'm not familiar with any "branching" attraction that moves as quickly as Indy/CTX does.

I'd be happy with them just finishing the ride they already built. There is so much dead space of pitch darkness in there created (or rather, not created) by a lack of funds and a rushed work schedule to open the park on time. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney has a significant amount of show props and scenery already built but uninstalled, sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

While they're at it, they should drop napalm on Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama and finally build EXCAVATOR!

While I do enjoy the attraction immensely, I remember how much more impressed I was by the opening day version.

This attraction has a lot of potential and I hope it's given some TLC sooner than later.

Yes it was and still could be a great not just a good attraction but great. It was never as good as Indy but when all of the effects were working Indy was a 10 and CTX was a 9 imo.

The ride does need some reworking I think. Fix the effects, return the name to CTX, get rid of the Dinosaur movie references, maybe some new effects/encounters. And I think some of the story needs some tweaking.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Makes sense. As long as so many of the effects need to be fixed anyways, may as well give it a good ol' overhaul!

Would love to see this boat concept in the link. I find it hard to be interested in anything at C&H and it doesn't fit in with the CTX ride at all. Retheming the park to more of an excavation and education area would be a great change and fit with the education idea of Animal Kingdom. Plus having a sweet boat ride like that would be icing on the cake. They could make it informative and exciting, like a Safari with dinosaurs.

I think there's another good reason to go with the excavator theme over the current one- the themed area under the roller coaster seems to be a desert. This would create an area of great contrast to the lush landscape of the rest of the park, and more importantly it would act as a better preshow for CTX- instead of the ride taking you from real trees outside to fake plastic trees on the inside, you would go from desert sagebrush to, well fake plastic trees, but at any rate it would be more of a contrast and thus more interesting.

They could always expand the show building. There's a whole lot of nothing behind Dinosaur, they could build and expand there.

I like the ride already so expanding it would be really awesome, but I just can't see them taking up that expense anytime soon. It could use some added excitement, but that goes for almost all of Animal Kingdom. Only time will tell if Disney is committed to making that park on par with the Magic Kingdom.

Another big problem is that there's not much to do in Animal Kingdom. Close Countdown to Extinction and all the kiddie rides at Chester and Hester's and they'd have massive crowd problems in the rest of the park.

The only way this renovation would be possible would be for them to build Beastly Kingdom, and even then it would probably have to wait a year or two after that.

Building EXCAVATOR, on the other hand, wouldn't require that they close CTX, so that's more plausible.
