Countdown Till Tapestry End

I read osme of the dissenting posts in this thread, and I am sorry, that is simply one of the most creative and audience involved parades. I think it was simply great.

I could see where a small child might be scared of some of the puppets, but I really liked these parades ( TON/TOD) I also heard that they stopped running the parades because Disney only had the rights to use the puppets for a limited time span, I think it was 5 years. Any thoughts on that? Belle

I loved both ToD and ToN. It was sad to see them go. I have nothing to back me up but I think the weather contributed to the end of this show. We were there several times when they had to cancel the performance due to excessive winds. I still listen to the CD a few times a year for a dose of what once was.:)

After reading this thread, I have a few questions. What happened to the puppets? Are they still in storage? Were they sold somewhere? Were they thrown away?

and... Rob, why do you hate ToN so much? Did Hammered Man bully you and hang you by the flag pole when you were little or something?

I know that modified (shorter)Disk Man puppets were used at Tokyo Disney Sea for their second anniversary parade. As for the others, I don't know.

I'd even be happy if they brought it back with characters in it, I just really want it to come back!!!
Well, if you've seen my idea for a Disney Theme park in Missouri in the Imagineer board, then you would have known that I included a new version of TOD hosted by Dreamfinder and Figment. The puppets, Dreamseekers,Drums, and even the Sage of Time are also in it along with the characters, all dressed in costumes that flow with fiber optics and in some cases, the costumes of the drummers. The units include adventure, rhythm, peace, fantasy and timelessness, and the Disney characters have all come to celebrate the dreams of the world playing their own instruments. Examples are Pooh playing on Honey pots like drums and Pinocchio using Monstro's teeth as a xylophone.

nope... because I was hospitalized several times due to injuries I sustained in ToD as a performer, and to this day I have chronic back pain.

I'll ask once again, why did you continue to perform in this parade?

because I was a part time cast member and had no choice. Although I was far from OK, the Disney Doctors released me to perform, even after I told them I did not feel safe in it.

ie- Disney screwed me.

unlike the rest of the world, Disney doesn't care if you don't feel safe in it. If the doctor says you're good to go, that's all they need.

If you want to discuss this further, I'll be back on tonight. I have things to do...

Many of the puppets are on display over at the Maingate Entertainment Offices
