Countdown ideas

Time to share your ideas for countdowns to get everyone psyched up for Disney!

Every year for about the past 5 years my family has headed down to WDW the first week in December. Last year, for the first time in a couple of years, my sister was able to join us!

But with her stressful job she needed some help psyching up for the trip and told me to build a website. So I did - and it got a LITTLE out of hand.

Everyday I would post a Where Am I? or a trivia question and Mom, Dad and my sister would earn points. The winner would win a yummy treat from Goofys Candy Kitchen! Well my Dad kind of pooped out half way through the competition claiming he didn't know any of the questions and the other two admitted it was a little extreme. But they still want me to do something to get everyone excited. Any ideas?

Im thinking of making a CD/DVD thingy with a track to watch/listen to everyday. It cant be like a calendar on the refrigerator because my sister lives in the city and my parents and I live in the suburbs so that wouldnt work unless I made her her own calendar.

Any and all suggestions welcome!

I am not nearly as creative as you are. I love your ideas and I would have been thrilled to participate all the way through! Especially for candy!

I have a countdown clock on my computer each year.
I would text your sister each day with how many sleeps left.

Send mass e-mails with 'This time next month we will be riding _______ or eating in ________"

Send e-mails with pictures of different attractions on your must see list.

You could secretly get shirts made for everyone and send those to them. 'Family trip 2010'.

The year I took my godkids, I created crosswords and word find puzzles for the plane with ride names. There are a few websites that do this easily.

I know you said no calendar, but my daughter and I would go thirty days out. We would start at 30 and put Disney stickers all over and ride names, little sayings. Just some stuff like that. And each morning we would do a little dance, a drum roll and then she would rip off a page. It actually helped the last 30 days go by fast.

Even though we are 105 days out until our trip, I send (email) my husband and son a Disney Picture each day. I name it, Picture of the Day...Sometimes I note below it...Remember when we did this, or Can't wait to do that again, etc. They love it.:)

I usually do the DVD or CD countdown myself...or the calender but I know you can't do that. So lets see what else we can come up with...

Disney Facts:

-Every day do a Disney fact or trivia question. Easier in the beginning and then harder...
-Find Hidden Mickeys in every day things and then post them or send them with the number of days you have left.
-We also do the next time this month, day hour. etc. until we get there.

Okay the CD/DVD thingy is a go but its not enough. Havent decided exactly when Im going to start doing this but its going to be soon and as of today were at 65 days - so I need lots of ideas. Ive been compiling a list of youtube videos and music. I also found a cute idea of sharing past Disney memories. But again not enough.
I know a lot of people come up with some little Disney themed trinkets and stuff for their kids. I came up with a couple of ideas (luggage tags made of the alien green Mickey paint chips) but I'm still kind of stuck. If I were doing this for little kids this would be easier but no kids on this trip.

Its me (28), my sister (27) and my Mom and Dad.

Any ideas? And of course Im trying not to spend TOO much money on this.

Since you are going during the holiday season, how about some game that involves the songs played during the Osborne lights or Xmas fireworks?

An interesting fact about each country in the World Showcase. Maybe something relating to the architecture of each pavillion.

A quiz involving the movies featured in the Great Movie Ride.
