Could you please help me? Need to prepare a class about Thanksgiving!

The only time we have Kielbasa & cabbage is at New years eve, why? I do not know as I hate it! :lol: My mom is part German and This is a tradition that was handed down from her father who was half Italian and half German, his father was 100% German. I do not know if this is even a "German" tradition, just that this tradition was handed down from my great grandfather. Every New years eve we always have Sour crout and Kielbasa cooked in beer! :lol: YUCK! :hurl: :lookaroun

Kielbasa or Bratwurst? Thats more German while the kielbasa is more Slavic.
Either way, I luvs em! :slurp:

We always have Italian food on New Year's Day....paying homage to my Italian roots. Don't really have any traditions to go with the Irish and Scottish blood though. *shrugs*

As far as the Italian, which I am more of, We eat ITalian ALL the time so no actual traditions there! :lol: And the Irish in me, on New years eve We drink alot of alchohal I guess you could say that is an Irish tradition! :lookaroun

Yeah, I will put it all together tomorrow! I just have to check the dictionary to see if I can translate or at least explain the food names... They will certainly ask me the classic question: "Tati, what does this mean???" and right now I myself don't know the meaning of some stuff you are talking about here. I will check my 4 dictionaries first, and if I don't find something, I'll ask you guys for help, ok? Anyway, thanks a lot for your help!!!

Does your Bristol friend have the Bristolian accent? If so how difficult was it for her to be understood on her visit.

I couldn't tell you what accent she had other than a British accent. :lol: Now if she was from Boston, New York, Maine, etc... Then I might figure it out but "all you guys sound the same to me". :lol:

As I have a farily neutral accent, I've come to gather that the average American concept of a "British" accent means a neutral English accent. Bristolian can be practically a different language, never mind accent :lol: I would gather your frind does not speak with a true Bristle accent.
