Could a New Park be on the Horizon?

With acquisition of 20th Century Fox franchises, what are your thoughts on how Disney will incorporate them into the parks!? Some are saying this is diluting the Disney Classics into something else! What do you think?

I think this opens up a WHOLE NEW WORLD for New Disney(new Parent company of Fox AND Disney) being able to at the least incorporate the new franchises into the parks OR leaving the current parks alone and creating another 5th gate for the new franchises! I think a Home Alone Attraction would be awesome done by NEW DISNEY! Maybe they would, down the road incorporate the franchises into DHS, meaning a more build out of the DHS park than it will be after Star Wars. The possibilities seem endless and could only mean that There's a Big Bright Beautiful Tomorrow just around the corner!

Unless a lot changes, I truly doubt that they will build a 5th gate ever. People, in this country, don't have that kind of time. Four Parks is a reasonable number that allows them to see most of WDW and still have travel time involved. Not to mention the justifiable increase in ticket prices when it is borderline impossible for a whole lot of people right now. They still have plenty of room to add attractions if they wish. The don't seem to have been wishing to do so until recently and I would be surprised if they did again in the near future.

I also don't see a 5th park coming, but I don't think it's due to time. We spend a week when we go and there are so many things we don't get to. I've been 6 times and there are things I still haven't done yet.

Isn't that what I was saying. Most people go for just about a week except those for overseas. There just isn't enough time to go to 5 parks when all you have is 7 days and you have to travel for two of them.

7 days - 2 for travel = 5 days for parks. If you split AK and HS, you still have 2 for MK or another split day for MK/Epcot + a day for any other park. Am I missing something?

Still, it's a moot point. I agree that they're not adding a new park anytime soon.

I always have a free day to go to Disney Springs or some other offsite thing in the area and many people like myself don't want to get home at 3am and be at work for 8am. Plus, in my mind... MK is at least a one and a half day park as is Epcot. Even now choices have to be made, add another park to the scenario and you burst the bubble. I know I am talking about my touring habit, but, I know I am not alone and, at least in this country, there are very few that have the luxury of two weeks vacation or the money to pay for it.

Don't know that the Fox acquisition opens this up. It might. If/When Uni announces another gate, it'll be interesting to see if Disney reacts by building more in existing parks or finally entertains the idea of a new gate.

I'm always saddened by people who consider DAK to be a half-day park. I could spend half of my vacation just at DAK alone.

Well also another factor may be that Universal Orlando is supposedly building another park and Disney may feel pressure to add another?

Of course we know nothing is in the works now but who knows what will be happening in 4 years!

I could see Fox feeding a second Chinese park or third park elsewhere. I don't see the fifth gate coming to a Disney resort.

I doubt it. If anything, we will see the Fox franchises incorporated into DHS.
If this is true to their thinking, DHS will become a much bigger park in the future! Which is a good thing!
I am not for a 5th gate, but if Universal builds a 4th gate then I think Disney will do one of 2 things...add to existing parks across property OR build a 5th gate! Only time will tell! Disney will no doubt build it the most inexpensive way possible!

More likely they will close attractions that they consider under performing. Reduce the ride time, and hourly capacity and instead of doing a unique story, or a unrealized property (101 dalmations, wall-e, fox and the hound, black hole etc etc etc) we would get a fox ride. Im not excited about this. Luckily universal has a simpson ride aleeady so we should miss that bullet.
