I'm not trying to play "gotcha", but that's actually not true. At dinner, they will gladly pour a bottle of wine that you've brought on board with you; but they will also charge you a "corking fee", which was $15/bottle when we inquired about it.
They actually waived the fee for us when we told them the circumstances, but I don't know how flexible they are normally about that fee.
I knew about the corking fee and actually thought to go back and do a little parenthasis blurb about a cork fee but to be honest, I don't drink wine because I don't like it and couldn't really give any real info as far as the fees or logisitics of how to go about it. I was typing that response on my iPhone in between batches of cookies and going back into a post to edit can be tedious...plus the priority was to make sure the cookies were peeerfectly baked...you know, not too firm but not too underbaked (which they were). No "gotcha" here! I was hoping someone would come along and post the info that I didn't have so mission accomplished!
Thank you!
**edit**
BTW, about that cork fee...is it charged per bottle or per meal? Like if a couple brought their own bottle to dinner and paid the corking fee of $15. What if they don't polish off the bottle and opt to bring it to their next dinner? Would they be charged $15 again or would the charge have been for that bottle and they don't have to pay it again? I have no clue how any restaurant handles cork fees. Seriously. Try as I may, I cannot summon a taste for wine. Well, with the exception of white sangrias anyway. LOL!
