Cost to Cruise?

I'm not trying to play "gotcha", but that's actually not true. At dinner, they will gladly pour a bottle of wine that you've brought on board with you; but they will also charge you a "corking fee", which was $15/bottle when we inquired about it.

They actually waived the fee for us when we told them the circumstances, but I don't know how flexible they are normally about that fee.

I knew about the corking fee and actually thought to go back and do a little parenthasis blurb about a cork fee but to be honest, I don't drink wine because I don't like it and couldn't really give any real info as far as the fees or logisitics of how to go about it. I was typing that response on my iPhone in between batches of cookies and going back into a post to edit can be tedious...plus the priority was to make sure the cookies were peeerfectly baked...you know, not too firm but not too underbaked (which they were). No "gotcha" here! I was hoping someone would come along and post the info that I didn't have so mission accomplished!

Thank you!

**edit**
BTW, about that cork fee...is it charged per bottle or per meal? Like if a couple brought their own bottle to dinner and paid the corking fee of $15. What if they don't polish off the bottle and opt to bring it to their next dinner? Would they be charged $15 again or would the charge have been for that bottle and they don't have to pay it again? I have no clue how any restaurant handles cork fees. Seriously. Try as I may, I cannot summon a taste for wine. Well, with the exception of white sangrias anyway. LOL!

What does a drink cost on a Disney cruise? My mother is going on one and was wondering. I figured someone her would be able to help.

Cheap actually compared to normal Disney mark-up vs the outside world.

Mixed drinks like a rum and coke were only like $6.50 - beers were in the same vicinity.

Soda and juices are free everywhere EXCEPT at a bar. There they are about $4.50

Yep! From what I understand Disney is the only cruise line that allows you to carry on your own liquor/wine/beverages. They don't want you to put any in checked bags but if you can or will carry it, you can. We carried on 2 fifth-size bottles of liquor and 40 or so mini-bottles of rum for a gift exchange we participated in with an online cruise group. They aren't going to pour your wine at dinner or anything but if your mom wants to mix a little something or pour her own its cool. We also brought our own 24 oz insulated tumblers because the cups at the drink stations are kinda small. We'd pour liquor in our tumblers then go to the drink stations to top off with ice and soda. Worked great for us.

Hubby got a kick out of the dads carrying on cases of beer while the wife and kids had fun juggling the luggage. Like I said, if you can carry it..... LOL

Thanks. I am certain that my mom will be thrilled to find this out.

Not sure if anyone else has the info readily available but there's also the beer mug deals for the beer drinkers. I forget how much the mug price is to purchase or the cost of the refills but I know in the grand scheme of things there's savings in there somewhere. As much as I luuuuurrrve me some beer I won't let myself purchase the mug because nothing packs the pounds on my bod faster than drinking beer the way I like to....
