Forgive him…the Tim Cook wannabe has been spewing this kinda nonsense in their little speeches for along time. This is a ridiculously ignorant statement that betrays a fundamental misunderstanding about how a business works. Guest satisfaction drives repeat customers, and word of mouth / reviews draws in new customers. If you run your business with no regard for guest satisfaction only caring about extracting maximum guest spending you will go out of business very quickly.
I haven’t been on it yet…because of the canned, staged “opening” last summerOf course people love TBA, it’s a well themed log flume with a big drop, people love even unthemed log flumes all across the world.
As someone who loved Splash I’d still give TBA a 7 or 8 out of 10, it’s still a super fun ride, Splash was a 8 or 9 out of 10 for me though. A slight downgrade but places very similar to where Splash did on my to do list.
Still suffers the same downfall of Splash, when its cold it’s a no go for us, when we are in FL a couple weeks it was in the 40s our MK day, you couldn’t have paid us to get on TBA that day.
With splash if the bluebird was static it was noted but didn't have much impact on the experience with this if one or two figures are static it is a snoozefest. More is better for hiding poor show and the reskin just didn't get that so they delivered a less than memorable experienceI haven’t been on it yet…because of the canned, staged “opening” last summer
…but I think I’ll like it. Not my favorite movie…but it’s ok.
It’s main “flaw” is this is yet another reskin in a place that has begun to charge 2,3 different ways each day to get on the ride…
Splash was…and likely will be…my all time favorite ride. Not only because I think it represents the best WDI can do…but also because of my associations with it. Just snaking through the queue…may have been 75-90 minutes…but you didn’t notice it that much…
…or on “slow days” when it was still Florida…you could ride it 8 times a day if you wanted?
Simpler times
The turtle/fountain room will always be my favorite show room…With splash if the bluebird was static it was noted but didn't have much impact on the experience with this if one or two figures are static it is a snoozefest. This is a good point, we’d often complain about the poor state of Splash but if a few of the animatronics were static it wasn’t as noticeable since most scenes had a half dozen other animatronics that were still working to catch your eye. If one of the Tiana, Mama Odie, etc animatronics goes down it’s going to be very noticeable since they’re often the only character in the scene. With splash if the bluebird was static it was noted but didn't have much impact on the experience with this if one or two figures are static it is a snoozefest. I can’t lie, that’s just upsetting!I'm the weirdo over there who thinks Star Trek: The Motion Picture is better than Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. So take my opinion for what it's worth.![]()
My mom loved Splash for the singing animals. She went on Tiana and then told me how much she loved the singing animals. Cracked me up that nothing had changed!I prefer TBA over Splash.
The most likely scenario is that most people liked both, enjoyed the change, but still really loved the drop for the most part and moved on with their life.
The cannons in RotR were great when they worked so we kind of had something modern for a few days. The turtle/fountain room will always be my favorite show room…
Along with the dancing ghosts, the bombardment of the fort, the shattered glass in tower…and selected others
The common theme is they’re all 30+ years old. Newer isn’t proving to be better
That’s nothing special…The cannons in RotR were great when they worked so we kind of had something modern for a few days.
I am sad I will never be able to see it when it was all working. Sadly this is true for many folks on several attractions through the years; effects they open with break, never get fixed and all subsequent riders get a downgraded experience.I think overall ROTR is a great attraction... I miss the canons when they were working...it was a great effect and broke up the feeling that it was repetitive... Overall it is an excellent ride... a journey.
THe IP had it been Darth Vader and the original trilogy cast would have been much more engaging.... but I grew up with that cast...not the new stuff.

We like RoTR but rarely ride it because (to us) it’s not worth the long queue, it always has a long queue though so others must find it worth the wait. Two things:
The “new stuff” was a dud. Let’s not parse. Exhibit A: the only thing to get traction since are a mini yoda and a boba fett looking dude
I think the ride is “ambitious”
Very tech detailed…almost too much so
But it was heavily hyped long before it was Riden. Labeled a “triumph” out of sheer want from fans. It has little repeat value and gives an illusion of thrill while doing little to trigger the senses
A little tip on Rise. I always show up 5 minutes before park close. Longest I have ever waited was 20 minutes. We like RoTR but rarely ride it because (to us) it’s not worth the long queue, it always has a long queue though so others must find it worth the wait.
It’s a great example of the saying “no one goes because it’s too crowded”.
At 30 minutes it’s a must do, it’s not worth 60 though. It wouldn’t make my top 10 list but it would be in the top 15.
Not this past week. The 7am VQ only lasted a few seconds every day, but the actual ride queue was fairly empty mid-day. It was very empty when I rode it at night, granted it was pretty cold that night. When I have gotten a VQ I’ve still had to wait in line for an “extended period of time”
