News Cosmic Ray's expansion project

They spent a small fortune to enlarge a terrible restaurant while 2-3 other restaurants sit either vacant or dormant part of the time. Makes sense.
This right here.

I've never understood the dining decisions at MK for the past 20 years.

It's getting better (at least they are using the QS in Fantasyland now), but why put all this effort into expanding Cosmic Rays when the QS in Adventureland sits empty most of the year?

Tomorrowland Terrace is closed just about every time we are there. Diamond Horseshoe is closed most of the time and doesn’t have a cool show anymore. Tortuga is closed most of the time. This is in the busiest theme park in the world. I don’t get it.

What don't you get? Disney makes more money by not staffing all of these places. So what if it is worse for the guests? We keep coming anyway...

I don’t think that’s true though. People will be going to the restaurants and spending money if they’re there. Especially if they added a counter service breakfast which there is none of. That’s why I genuinely don’t understand why there aren’t more food options.

I think the problem is they can not find a menu that works well. It seems like every time they open the restaurant it is with a different menu. Personally I think they should have a "home style" type of counter service. Stuff that you can usually get at a table service (but can't because they are booked up) like a pot roast meal, fried chicken, chicken pot pie, beef stew, lasagna. Those are all foods that can be made ahead of time and served quickly at a counter service. We don't need any more burgers or chicken strips.

In all honesty Plaza Pavilion could reopen as a Cosmic Rays overspill.

Still wouldn't eat there if you paid me. It's a sad state when even the menu pictures manage to make the food look unappetizing.

Sonny Eclipse is fun once in a while but it's definitely not enough to make me visit there.

Unless it’s late at the MK and literally everything else is closed lol.

Diamond horseshoe is open year round as a buffet

Shame it’s not how it used to be though.

Why they can’t spend some money and just open TTerrace properly is beyond me. What good is more seating if you still have to fight the crush to get to order and mobile ordering entails a twenty minute wait.
Especially if you’re the #1 visited theme park in the world, how can you not have everything open? :D

Actually I'm an idiot and forgot they serve family style, not buffet. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

You know as well as I do it’s all about profit per labor hour, If a location does not make the cutoff it stays closed. But of course the data is skewed because people are used to TT being closed so even when it’s open it’s way underutilized. If they want real sales data WDW needs to leave TT open for at least 3 months so guests get used to it being open.
