Hopefully it’s along the lines of, “I’m independently wealthy and don’t need that paycheck, anyway.” I really hope enough businesses use this as the ammo they need to mandate their employees be vaccinated. At least for the high risk/high exposure industries.

I’m genuinely curious as to what makes you think the outbreak in FL has peaked and is starting to decline. It’s no secret that FL hospitals are full and are turning away very sick patients. Many of those people are going to die at home.

It’s also no secret that it’s near impossible to get a COVID test in a timely manner in the state of Florida right now. People that want to be tested today have to wait in a line for hours, provided they’re not too sick to do that, or wait days for a scheduled appointment. My guess is a lot of symptomatic people are forgoing testing entirely, and very few asymptomatic people, even if they know they’ve been exposed, are going to expend the time and effort to get tested when it’s an enormous hassle at the moment.

The data shows that it is either near peak or has peaked. There are likely significantly more cases than reported but the shape of the curve should be pretty accurate. Researchers at USF predicted that it would peak tomorrow in an article last week.

Sometimes when reading this thread it’s like being catapulted back to March 2020. Still talking about the effectiveness of masks(proven) and the comparisons to the flu or driving a car over the speed limit(???). Six hundred thousand dead and still climbing, with the pandemic still raging and we are still discussing the flu.

You should have seen the various threads in the political forum on this subject where I pointed out there was no stopping this. They only way to have stopped it was for it to never have started.

As to the rest there? This was always going to be the case in the most politically, economically, religiously, culturally and ethnically diverse country on earth. And because people like to misconstrue (not saying you), that’s just what America is, like it or not.
