I think you have to start with "how many are needed", "how long does each take", "How many injections per hour can you do", then you can decide on how many stations for how many doses and what time frame you want it done. Six months is going to be tough and I don't expect assembly line injections until March at least.
But those three questions could have been answered before Emergency Use Authorization. If they sent out "surveys", and did not even do some dry runs to determine what they could do then they did not take the need to know seriously.

I hope "assembly line injections" start sooner than March. I was expecting that the supply of doses was going to be the initial bottleneck, not the ability to administer those doses. But if they did not follow through in knowing what they could administer then they are left to reacting after the problem occurs, instead of preventing it from occurring.

But aren't there still doses waiting for the order to be shipped? If there is permission to release these doses to states, that should give a little more wiggle room for states to widen the distribution phases.
As of yesterday, Florida has only administered 25% of the doses delivered.
New York has only administered 20% of doses delivered. States have not properly deployed the means to administer the doses they have received.

From NY Times: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/31/health/vaccine-distribution-delays.html

South Dakota leads the country with more than 48 percent of its doses given, followed by West Virginia, at 38 percent. By contrast, Kansas has given out less than 11 percent of its doses, and Georgia, less than 14 percent.

Was reading an article from yesterday Ohio was 45.3%
Better than expected given some hesitations of others. Personally, I have no idea why people are declining though. I'd be afraid of not being able to get it easily if initially declined.

I took a look and didn’t see this posted. If it was please delete but been watching the capital disgrace in DC and didn’t see it in a quick look.
They don’t think there is a connection but happened a few days after receiving it.

Don't worry. In less than two weeks it will all be fixed by competent leadership. I look forward to what better policies are implemented then what has been done for weeks in California.

Hospitalizations and deaths will be significantly reduced after enough elderly have gotten the complete vaccine series and cases will be significantly reduced when the same is true for those under 65.

The exact same thing would happen under the current administration but I'm you and people who think like you will be touting the great job President Harris (I mean Biden) did when no politician really had anything to do with it.

And for the record, the stuff that went on yesterday was disgusting but so were the riots over the summer. Violence is never justified no matter what the grievance is. Protesting is fine but when it crosses the line into violence against others or property destruction it becomes unacceptable.
After yesterday... the defenders are still out there. Incredible.

Besides, Tron isn't going to open until 2022 and Guardians until after our 2021 dates. Waiting another year might be best. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. While I longingly stare at the upgraded magic bands we got, right before they stopped shipping them out. How long do those batteries last anyway?
The batteries in the magic bands last a few years but are ONLY for the long range sensors - such as displaying your name at the end of IASW or automatically adding pictures from certain rides. All magic bands will work forever to open your room, park entrance, paying for food and beverage, and fastpass.

I did not realize that, thanks.

Words matter. They have mattered from the beginning of and in continuing regards to the coronavirus response, they have mattered in the way we recognize and celebrate all of humanity, and they deeply mattered yesterday.

Edit: Also, what does "yesterday" have to do with COVID policies and response and how the incoming administration will take credit for success made possible by a vaccine created by scientists who would do the same thing regardless of who the president is?

Everything. Because all of the words matter.

I did that because the poster I responded to and others constantly say he is the problem and the reason it hasn't been solved. I didn't defend anything. He is neither the problem nor the solution as the solution is medical and not political policy.

We spend a great deal of time here on this Disney fan board analyzing every action and statement... every word... made by the executives of the company, especially those of the CEO and chairman of the board. We speak often of Iger’s legacy, of Eisner’s failings, of Walker’s leadership in dark hours, and we constantly ask ‘what would Walt have done?’

Why?

Because leadership always sets the tone, from the very top down.

Okay SO, if something happens tonight/tmr, that would make it possible for someone else to become leader, then will that potentially speed vaccine things up a little??? I know its just two weeks, but that's a years time these days...
You will get your new “leader” but that has nothing to do with this and besides that, the vaccine was created and approved in 9 months that usually takes 4 or more years, so we are ahead of schedule by about 3 years..

One of the major reasons why were able to approve the vaccines so quickly was because the raging, out-of-control pandemic allowed us to accumulate the necessary case numbers in the studied populations to reach statistical significance much faster than usual. Although I'm glad we have the vaccines now, it is a little sobering to think about why we got here so quickly.

Please for the love of Mickey can we not discuss the cowardly coup attempt in this thread, it doesn’t really have anything but a tangential connection to Covid.

It’s distracts from the topic, and believe me I’m extremely angry what happened yesterday, as unfortunately the orange one finally managed to do something so terrible that now our government is going to have to focus on his temper tantrum over being labeled a loser instead of the pandemic but it doesn’t mean we have to here.

Agree. Sorry my response was just to the first post I read here this morning and it rubbed me the wrong way. Just deleted my response to that poster. Back on track.
