It was a response to a question from a reporter rather than part of the agenda at their conference today. So I suspect not something high priority at the moment.

Other attraction news - during the Orange County Task Force meeting this morning, Fun Spot asked to reopen on May 22nd and Gatorland asked to reopen on May 23rd.

"While submitting these dates, these smaller parks have all requested a Phase Two reopening according to Florida’s guidelines. At this time, Florida has begun their “full Phase One reopening”, which has expanded on the capacity levels for restaurants and retail stores. Currently, there has been no date or set of guidelines released for Phase Two of the state’s reopening."

In today's Orange County Task Force meeting, representatives from some of Orlando's smaller theme parks, including Gatorland and Fun Spot, requested specific reopening dates.

-Bag checks

-No weapons
-No costumes
-No "Halloween" masks
-Wearing proper restraints on the rides

These rules were enforced every day since they were added with very few exceptions. How often have you seen a CM "give up" and allow someone to ride Tower of Terror without a seatbelt because they complained? Or a guest wearing a full Darth Vader costume in the park?

Those safely rules are more similar to the new mask rules. They are a lot different than "no cutting in line" or "please stay behind this tape line on the ground".

This. The closest modern comparison here is the "no costumes" and "no smoking rule." Both are enforced quite strictly.

Texas had been lower than many states for a while. None of the big cities became hotspots or had overwhelmed hospitals. They definitely delayed the curve.

I am betting June 7th and that they will announce either Wed (w/ Mike Pence at the announcement) or Thursday.
Of course due to one of the rules about items you are to wear, yesterday I canceled my June 6 check-in at AKL-Jambo and picked up Kadani Christmas week.

Well tried to have my 6 month glaucoma checkup with the eye doc. Went straight from work to appt 3 blocks down the road, mask had to be worn to enter, only to be kicked back out for a 100.1 "fever" to cool off. (No I didn't type that wrong 100.0 was the cutoff for them not 100.4) Given screening questions about what I had been doing and if I had X,Y, or Z symptoms. Appt started late because I spent 15 minutes waiting to be rechecked in a hallway. Went to 99.7 and suddenly I'm good to go. Fun times:rolleyes:

Sounds like it worked well. 15 minutes is a small price to pay to make sure your doctor and their staff (and their families) reduce risk and don't get sick (or die) while still being able to serve you.
