What part of my original post makes you feel that I dont trust any particular media outlet?

Because media is a blanket term. There's plenty of "media" that doesn't say or report any of what you've suggested. But there is often this knee-jerk reaction that "media" is a boogeyman! Well, I mean... some media depending on who's raising their fists. And I find it funny, that's all.

Restaurants at 25% capacity aren’t going to make a profit.
Which is why the enforcement of what constitutes "25%" is gonna be as useless as going to sea in a sieve.
There was a lot of talk of using outdoor seating with tables 6 feet apart. What constitutes 25% is very simple to enforce. Each restaurant has a maximum capacity from the CO. Multiply that by .25 and there is the limit. They also have to keep 6 feet between tables.

That's all very well on paper. We'll see how it goes in person. Stay tuned.

Please share if you have pics. I read a report that several thousand crew members are still living on cruise ships docked outside of Florida because FL does not want the crews to enter FL.

I was luckily debarked off a Disney ship before the US stopped allowing crew to debark. But yes there are still many crew on board, some still working and some « on vacation » but aren’t able to leave.

Saw most of his press conference and I’m not sure how I feel. When he said he is driven by data and the medical doctors and hospitals, I said good. He is opening the right way in my opinion. When it came to questions about a possible spike and would he pull back, he went right into irrational talking points. “ Well, did the spike come from what we did?”.. “ we would look at it and check the data”. Not many would want to be proven that they did wrong so I worry about the reasons it did spike, IF it happened. Then went into some other political talking points, which is fine, I get it. They all do it. I just hope it goes well for everyone in Florida.

My friend who is a ER doctor in Atlanta told me that if I got my head blown off by a semi automatic weapon and tested positive for covid it would be listed a covid death. Harsh I know but she was venting !
She's actually right. That's how the funding is coming. Go in with a heart attack, test positive for Covid, die from heart attack, listed as Covid.

They don't even have to test positive. They just have to meet the criteria for a "presumed" positive. The hospital will get paid in full for treatment of any COVID-19 patient (either from private insurance or CMS) so that's why they do it.

Statistically, it is probably a wash with the people who actually did die of COVID-19 and weren't counted so the total is probably pretty accurate.

Think for yourselfer
Agreed. I didn't expect to see "covid-19 deniers" in this thread. That's pretty sad.

I'm in Ontario, Canada, and we're planning to stay closed down for another month or two. No "re-opening the economy" before we have an effective treatment and/or are testing at adequate capacity.

Over here it's lives before dimes, I guess.

Not next door though. 🤷‍♂️

Makes you wonder how many of those 50000 deaths are really from covid and also why the deception? 😡🙄

There has to be evidence that the death is related. COVID-19 does produce a number of strange heart symptoms. Getting shot would not count asCOVID-19 death.

If anything, the numbers are underreported due to so many dying alone at home or in nursing homes without proper testing.

We can also see overall spikes in the # of deaths in impacted areas.

Politics aside, any leader is going to say things to appease the people they report to. I think opening anything is a disaster waiting to happen. But from an economic perspective, I understand.

I did. Did I misrepresent?

The guy has been a constant target in the media and came out and presented *ACTUAL* facts on how the disease has not been as dire as everyone predicted and then rolled out a well thought out plan to reopen the state in what I believe are too small of steps but I respect he is at least taking those first steps. Why would you be speaking negatively towards him and claim he will blame others when he has done a great job this far all while under tremendous Pressure from the media who for some reason as chosen to depict Florida as this sickly wasteland. Im just curious if we watched the same conference.

You missed the harsh part of my message but she was venting. If you need it spelled out it was a conversation about the blatant mislabeling of deaths but take it however you want to.

You were tyring to paint the mislabeling as something that was widespread and so to discount the number of deaths and so to discount the seriousness of the virus so as to discount the seriousness of public response.

I know. It's another province (kind of like saying "another state"). And it's their prerogative.

We'll see if it works out for them. I do hope it does, because working from home for almost 2 months now is incredibly boring. However, few people over here think it will.

I'll look kindly on them for offering themselves as a test subject. Same for the States down south.

"Suggesting" is the operative word in that report. When videos of actual doctors reporting on what they've witnessed (padded numbers) get removed from major platforms such as YT and FB, it "suggests" that there is some form of a cover up.

The video was removed because it spread dishonest information that posed a public safety risk. The relevant health departments publicly said their information was dishonest and incorrect.

But public health experts were quick to point out the major flaws in the doctors’ methodology – namely that only a tiny percentage of Californians have actually been tested, a group that is more likely to test positive and is not representative of the larger population.

But public health experts were quick to debunk the doctors’ findings as misguided and riddled with statistical errors — and an example of the kind of misleading information they are forced to waste precious time disputing.

The doctors should never have assumed that the patients they tested — who came for walk-in COVID-19 tests or who sought urgent care for symptoms they experienced in the middle of a pandemic — are representative of the general population, said Dr. Carl Bergstrom, a University of Washington biologist who specializes in infectious disease modeling. He likened their extrapolations to “estimating the average height of Americans from the players on an NBA court.” And most credible studies of COVID-19 death rates are far higher than the ones the doctors presented.

In a rare statement late Monday, the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine declared they “emphatically condemn the recent opinions released by Dr. Daniel Erickson and Dr. Artin Messihi. These reckless and untested musings do not speak for medical societies and are inconsistent with current science and epidemiology regarding COVID-19. As owners of local urgent care clinics, it appears these two individuals are releasing biased, non-peer reviewed data to advance their personal financial interests without regard for the public’s health.”

Dr. Birx admitted that unlike other countries, when someone died with Covid-19 present we count it as a Covid-19 death. I have a friend of the family who's a healthcare worker and confirms. They're declaring someone in hospice who contracts it as a Covid-19 death. There are reports of it everywhere if you chose to look. There are doctors on tv everyday voicing their concerns with that policy.
