There has got to be a reporting glitch. Going from an over 8k daily case average to only 4k?

Just a reminder, because of the recent reporting changes, the numbers Miami Herald reports are cumulative changes from one day to the next.

In this case, there were 6,271 new cases reported on 9/22, however this data batch reported to the CDC, Florida removed 2,305 cases from earlier in September and added 249 more on other dates.

"Florida on Thursday reported 1,213 more deaths and 4,215 additional COVID-19 cases to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to Miami Herald calculations of CDC data.

All but 131 of the newly reported deaths — about 89% — occurred since Aug. 26, according to the Herald analysis. About 56% of the newly reported died in the past two weeks, the analysis showed. The majority of deaths happened during Florida’s latest surge in COVID-19 cases, fueled by the delta variant."

"In the past seven days, on average, the state has added 328 deaths and 8,227 cases to the daily cumulative total, according to Herald calculations of CDC data."

"There were 7,928 people hospitalized for COVID-19 in Florida, according to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Thursday report. This data is reported from 260 Florida hospitals. That is 259 fewer patients than Wednesday’s report, but also from 24 more reporting hospitals than the previous 236.

COVID-19 patients occupy 13.57% of all inpatient beds in the latest report’s hospitals, compared with 14.99% in the previous day’s reporting hospitals.

Of the people hospitalized in Florida, 2,041 people were in intensive care unit beds, a decrease of 87. That represents about 31.24% of the state’s ICU hospital beds compared with 32.84% the previous day."

The worst thing about this is many will say see its over with.

We need the number at less than 15% ICU which is consider the critical number.

In 2009 the world ICU for that flu pandemic was 7.6% for a 3 short months and at that time that was thought to be outrageous with DR saying we were ill prepared.

Now we can be double or triple triple that number and for months or years on end and people are okay with it.

We may be on a downward slope, but in my personal opinion we need get that ICU bed number at 5% or less ICU number for a straight year or more for us to say we are anywhere near in a good space.

No more than two weeks after Orange county gets under 5% positivity. So... based on UF projections, this would mean probably November for Disney (If not a little sooner).

It's already at 9.99%. Falling almost 1.5 pts in the last 10 days alone. It'll be alot quicker than November. More like 3-4 weeks from now. The question is does Disney drop the indoor masks once it hits levels below say 6%?

3-4 weeks from now is late October, saying November isn’t that far off.

It needs to stay like that. History shows we are looking for another high come January. We need get through a winter with low numbers.

We need 6 months or a year of low numbers or the masks will just come off and on and off and on. Plus, we will have world travelers coming in, it is not going to make the numbers any better.

For me we need wear masks until Spring 2022 at MIN. I HATE masks, but we need go for the kill on this thing and not react so fast as soon as the numbers go down for a month or two or even three, not in winter.

"The U.S. vaccination drive against COVID-19 stands on the verge of a major new phase: Government advisers on Thursday recommended booster doses of Pfizer’s vaccine for millions of Americans.

This, despite concern among some experts that the extra shots will do little to slow the pandemic.

The advisory panel to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended the extra doses for people 65 and older, nursing home residents, and people who are 50 to 64 with underlying medical conditions. It also said boosters can be offered to people 18 to 49 with underlying conditions.

The shots would be given at least six months after the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine."

Kind of makes you wonder if this "publicity" thing is a two-way street in this case.
Nope. I never thought that. Amazing how a report of a couple, just out for a bite to eat and a drink, trying to be safe conscious because of a child that’s immune compromised, turns into some people commenting on whether their masks fit correctly or they are doing it for publicity. I’ll remind you they were asked to leave because they had masks on. And it continues… just amazing.

Just saw Tim Tracker got COVID and was vaccinated with Moderna in April. Very mild symptoms and Jen did not get it. They both have been wearing masks indoors and out and does not know where he got it from. They are both wearing masks at home to be “100% sure” Jen will not get it even though both are negative now.

Have they been congregating in crowded environments lately?

Problem is that the men who caught onto a fashionable trimmed beard or stubble in the past two decades got lazy during the pandemic and grew unkempt, long 'pandemic beards.'

Hopefully, going back to work in person or getting back into the dating seen will change that.

I don't know how those who have partners aren't hounded by them daily to get back to normal grooming.

Why are you concerned with others facial hair?

Do they wear masks while they’re sleeping?
