Interesting read. Wynn resorts CEO wants Nevada to open the Strip by mid-May under social distancing. His plan includes reduced hotel occupancy, physical distancing, temp checks and no large gatherings. Some of the stuff we talked about earlier about Disney including only allowing 4 people in an elevator at a time and having exterior doors either propped open or automatic. It’s not the same as a theme park but it’s a popular tourist destination which draws people from all over. There’s alot of similarities. In Hong Kong the casinos have been re-opened for a while now but still no Disney park.

How do you socially distance while playing a table game?

Just the idea of being covid exposed at Disney, does not mean Disney has to prove their innocence in court. Defense lawyers are pros at the S word, -Settlement.

Its not really about proving innocence(which even in the criminal arena is not the proper threshold. The state is supposed to establish guilt beyond reasonable doubt)......its about the weight of the evidence.

If Disney follows government issued guidelines and protocols that would carry an enormous amount of weight and therefore no need for paying out via settlement or judgment.

Going on day 36 of mandatory lockdown down here in my country 🇬🇹. Last night the President reduced mandated curfew by 2 hours. Now 6pm-4am. The rest of the very strict measures, remain in place for the time being.

I'll be able to go for my daily neighborhood walk 😷 at a more weatherwise pleasant time. These 2 extra hours feel like heaven right now! 😌

Active cases: 258.
Recovered patients: 22
Deceased: 7

Well, my state (Colorado) wants to try this reopening thing too. Assuming, business adopts social distancing policies...

Personal Services (hair salons, etc) - Apr 27
Retail - May 1
Business Offices - May 4th, with telecommuting HIGHLY encouraged
Restaurants - re-evaluate in Mid May
Schools - still closed

Pleas that people should still social distance as much as possible. We've been at 75%-80%, below 65% the concern about overwhelmed hospitals becomes real again.

Hopefully I can share this. We need some cautious optimism in these times. If true total case count is really such an order of magnitude greater than confirmed case count, the mortality rate looks a lot less sinister.

Those numbers match the Stanford numbers quite well. Interesting.

I’ve been at a few tables with people who were anti-social but never social distanced;)

I don’t really think its possible. Maybe only a few players per table. New dice for each new shooter at the craps table. The chips are a problem for sure either way.

Surely you jest... why that would probably be almost as risky as opening the water parks where chlorinated water was constantly being splashed everywhere like mild bleach on an infected surface.

I think a large issue with the water parks is not so much sharing treated bathing water, as it is the close contacts required and sometimes unintentionally occurring inherent in those activities. Typhoon lagoon might be a hostile environment for a virus, but you’re also bumping up against people constantly with the wave action... same goes for the rivers.

And then what in the world do you do about the changing rooms....?

Not sure you could really social distance at all... most blackjack tables are 6 feet long so one player at each end but then you couldn't have a dealer in the middle to deal the cards because he would be 3 feet from each player. Roulette is 8 foot table so you could get the employee and one player at each table... same with craps... but then craps and roulette aren't going to be nearly as profitable if the house is only taking money from one player per table.

One thing I can trust is my cravings for Chinese food. All the places where we are at have been closed for over a month.

I wanted to cry back in Feb.

During lunch rush the food court at our local indoor mall had patrons at every eatery, except for the Mom and pop looking Chinese setup. By far Chick FilA had the the most, say 25 customers doing switchbacks in line and right near it was the Chinese food spot with nobody. Nothing. 3 servers who looked to be family waited behind plexiglass at their stall waiting for a customer, any customer. It was a pitiful sight and revealed a societal ignorance and unfairness because prior to Corona heavy news that spot was doing business.

Benches spaced around the park?
No No No... benches would invite people to sit closer than the designated 6 foot social distance... we need to install immovable stools precisely 6 foot from one another.... Now won't that be grand to take your family and have you sitting 6 feet from your spouse who is 6 feet from your son who is six feet from your daughter who is now closer to the pervert than she is to you?

Families don't need to distance from other family members. They just need to distance from other families. Giant signs that say "one family per bench" should be enough for people to self police.

You assume people will heed those signs. I'm betting they will be followed about as much as the no line jumping rules... Mr. X gets tired and sees an open spot by Mr and Ms Y, so he goes and plops down... Now given CM's never enforce the line jumping rules they aren't likely to enforce this rule either which means it will be up to Mr X and the Y's to decide whether fight over the bench or not. I could see some nice Youtube video coming out of this.

I'm curious how the hair salons are going to do social distancing... does that mean the stylist throw sharp knives through my hair from 6 feet away to give me that haircut? The social distancing ha been nonsense from the start and should be eliminated when something reopens it just makes no sense at all.

Noticed today Publix turned off their water fountains. A friend who works at Walmart says they did the same. Can anyone wager how many water fountains are on WDW property? Xtra points if you can guess how much it would cost to convert them all to those water bottle fillers ( i saw one @ galaxy edge iirc)

Both employees and customers wear masks. In situations where you can’t stay at least 6 feet apart (like checkout at a store) that’s the recommendation.
