How do you not see it if it's mandated by local law?
One, this is America. We bark and jump as soon as we see any form of our rights being infringed - right to bear arms, smoking, speech, marriage, religion, etc. People don’t like being told what to do...it’s in our nature.

Two, if Disney adopts this “mask requirement,” what other conditions come with it? Type of mask? What about gloves? What about a human bubble? What about eye protection? How do you enforce a standard without issuing masks and other PPE at the gates?

My thoughts are that they, Disney, is going to “recommend” guests wear masks and practice healthy habits, but they will not enforce it.

Hard to say if it will be mandated locally. Osceola county requires masks in public starting tomorrow. Orange County has not issued that mandate. The mayor said they’ll decide over the next few days for Orange County. As someone has mentioned masks would have to be provided to some degree. The mayor commented that could prove difficult. I think if you have access to a face covering, use it even if it’s not required in your county. We’re all working together to end this as quickly as possible.

I'm saying the rules - if they are put in place - are going to be broken.
I can certainly see good enforcement upon going through security.
Or in ride queus particularly indoor queus where we would be asked to don one as part of a spiel, much like putting on 3D glasses.
But when people are eating and drinking, those masks are going to come down.
How soon do they go back up? Who's there to enforce how quickly?
When people get uncomfortably hot and sweaty around their mouths, and people are developing rashes (masks are irriting to wear under good indoor conditions) masks are going to come down while people mop their faces and take a break.
I don’t think anyone is thinking participation or enforcement will be 100%, 100% of the time. Just as you have people break existing rules constantly as it is. But as long as the majority are participating you will be going a long way to reducing the spread. If encouraged/required most people will obey.

Furthermore, regarding masks, you are going to have these psychos who wear radioactive/biohazard type cartridge masks...I was at Walmart and I saw this guy shopping with it on...I said it’s time to go.

There are those who will commit crimes without being able to be identified, because their faces will be covered.

Saw this right after your post.

Of course the rules will be broken. All rules are broken when people don’t care about others or following directions. I’ve smelled pot in the parks.. see people smoking every time I go(and I’m a vapor but follow the guidelines) .. you only have to listen to the announcement at any show..” please go to the end of the row without stopping in the middle” to know that a lot of people think it’s all about them.
It’s how closely will they enforce this if it happens and what they will do about it.

Or select locations.
Wear one upon entering a park or at least be required to show you have one.
Wear one in a queue, or at least the indoor portion of a queue. This one sounds quite doable.
"Please put on your masks" could be something that cast members tell guests at ride entrances or the indoor portion of rides perhaps depending on crowd levels.

Agreed, healthy use to contain the spread...I’m not against the elderly population, but I was at Home Depot, picking up stuff for work, and I saw an elderly couple buying flowers with masks on. 1) Why are you out? 2) If you were at home, your masks could be used by the police, health professionals, etc.

The masks only work if the restrictions are followed as well...buying flowers is not essential.

I think once this is rolled out on a larger scale, you will see that there will be ‘outs’. For example, Osceola County has an out for those under the age of two. I imagine that age will be lifted to 3-5 years old eventually (you have to get it to a point where a child can reasonably listen and follow instructions. My child is under 2 and even at two years old he’s not going to understand what we are telling him when it comes to a mask). My four year old and ten year old can at least talk, respond, and follow directions (for the most part) so I think that’s a good cut off.

Businesses have to understand the balance here and so does our government. There has to be ways to allow all to live ‘reasonably’. Telling families with small children (under 3) that they are essentially quarantined until there is vaccine is far from reasonably. This would be the equivalent of telling those over the age of 65 to just stay home until there is a vaccine. It’s not reasonable.

True. Although it is possible they were there picking up something needed for the house and were picking up flowers since they were there.
