That's what is not clear. Tests are guaranteed free but Disney states they are covering the cost?. Doesn't make sense.

Nope, not all insurers have committed to completely covering the cost of the test. And even so, some tests might cost more than what is allowed by the insurer.

Regardless, Disney is stating "free", so that's good.

I had not thought of hydraulic systems needing to be drained. I wonder what the impact will be on the AAs of long term stationary. Hall of presidents comes to mind.
I suspect they are worried that the seals on the hydraulic cylinders will start leaking and with no one around it would create a mess that would just sit there and ruin other equipment. Also it would be a fire hazard.

That bend and peak people are looking for? T
Well the peak of tested confirmed . Does it say how many days the backlog is? Like is it 2 days, 5 days etc? And I also wonder how many other states are like this too . If it’s a significant backlog then media needs to be sure to state that vs the hyped “X amount of new cases highest ever” type reporting.
Ugh what does that do the modeling?

I don’t think the pending cases change anything with the models or any of the actual results. Pending just means tested but no results have been returned. Depending on the type of tests used some take several days to get results back and others take as little as 15 mins. If you assume on average a day or 2 for pending tests then the results are just on a day or 2 lag. So if the number of new cases peaks today it just means those people were probably tested a few days ago. The trends are still moving in the same direction. The pending test concept may also explain why it seems that Florida results in particular are light on Sunday if less people work over the weekend.

Disney should repurpose their Super Bowl MVP ad and instead, once this virus is done and dusted, have everyday people submit footage of them happily exclaiming they are going to Disneyland/Disney World.
“Hey Evil Chameleon you just survived 87 days in lockdown with your school age kids, what are you going to do now?”

”I’m going to Walt Disney World”

Another coworker reported positive today, he had the test done April 3rd after showing symptoms at work March 30th. This is the 4th coworker in Indiana that's had a major lag in testing time.

Not good news. Did you and other co-workers get tested that came into contact with your impacted peer and is the location being cleaned throughly?

The governor said not so fast. There's been no decision yet.

As of right now, there is a surplus of testing available in the Orlando Convention Center, (this could change if cases picked up fast)so it is currently open to everyone in the central Florida area who would like to be tested that has major concerns over having it. The test is not pleasant, but if you are really concerned and have a weird sickness you can not shake they will take your claim at face value and every person in your vehicle with you can be tested as well.
If you are not seriously concerned, please avoid it as you are more at risk to you or potentially others who could benefit from this.

5 days before getting around to doing the test, then 8 days to get results.

They can spend multiple trillions of dollars bailing out banks, hedge funds and large corporations, but still can't make enough rapid tests available to help slow down the pandemic.

Maybe effective testing would mess up the bailout schedule.

I hope that's a facetious post - the money being spent has no correlation to testing. The people making test kits and running labs are doing so 24/7 and increasing throughput as much as possible. Throwing money at something doesn't have a short term effect.

Heck, my company (chemical industry) is trying to produce a several-thousand gallon batch of hand sanitizer to supply our own facilities and donate to local health-care. Even with the most senior people int he company pushing it, it's still going to take us ~2 weeks to get done from when the project was initiated.

Yup. It takes time to produce and distribute things...I see many on social media talking as if you snap a finger and like magic, new antibody tests will be available everywhere.

I’d almost feel a little nervous for some reason getting back on some of these rides right after it reopens.

It may not be a normal thing for Disney attractions to have a long-term hiatus (unless it’s primeval whirl...), but the vast majority of traditional theme and amusement parks have always been seasonal... so it’s not like this is completely unknown territory in the industry as a whole. Disney widely uses off-the-shelf ride hardware, all of those manufacturers have processes and procedures for restarting. Most attractions will probably get better attention paid to them for the restart then they do in the midst of 16-hour-day operations.

Wasn't even told until today and I had to clean the area myself. Supervisor slipped and said who it was, and he informed me the the health department is in charge of tracing contacts so they would get ahold of whomever they deemed at risk. This is how they have handled every confirmed case so far. Thank God it's all of our last day for 3 weeks due to no orders, but it's ridiculous we aren't told anything cases until results come in. That was 13 days ago, I've already had to do another shopping trip since then.
