BTW an asymptomatic covid outbreak seems to have taken place inside a Disney cruise ship and so far no one is talking about the potentially massive lawsuits that will follow.
...ahhh. I was wondering where you were from when you reacted to my reference to “the troubles”...I understand that everybody can’t be saved and that the economic and social price are massive and almost incomprehensible but when you fall into the vulnerable category it colours your perspective.......... I’m still a Mum and my husband is still a Dad and a brother. We still lead active lives. We pay taxes, council tax, provide public service, play in a brass band and generally don’t feel ready to give up life without a fight. Please don’t give up on us- if the roles were reversed the aged wouldn’t give up on you! I know that’s very different but even vaguely suggesting that the vulnerable should be left to take their chances is horrific for someone in that category!!

I hadn’t seen that...what’s your reputable source?BTW an asymptomatic covid outbreak seems to have taken place inside a Disney cruise ship and so far no one is talking about the potentially massive lawsuits that will follow.
Quite easily...which is why the cruise industry as a whole is in DEEP troubleHow does that happen?
...doesn’t look too reputable.I've avoided posting about this because the other articles I've read link back to just one report here -

Has there been any other confirmation?
This is the same ship right?I've avoided posting about this because the other articles I've read link back to just one report here -

Disney Cruise ‘Handful of Guests', 2 Crewmembers Test Positive for COVID-19
A Disney Cruise ship that pulled into the Port of San Diego last week reports a “handful of guests” and two crewmembers have tested positive for COVID-19 after not exhibiting symptoms during the cruise. Disney said Monday they have notified all guests and crewmembers about the positive COVID-19...www.nbcsandiego.com
It left New Orleans before the cruise lockdown and returned to San Diego early. Doesn’t seem overly negligent.
I am a Cubmaster for a Cub Scout Pack, we have been directed to not even have meetings in person. We have been doing virtual meetings. Probably all summer camps will be cancelled.
That could mean things are STARTING to work...could.The Worldometer count is about to tick over to another day, but it's showing 9,000 fewer new cases today than yesterday. Deaths were up by 1,200 though. Most of the states with the most overall cases saw fewer new cases too, including NY, NJ, and FL.
Very good need. Thank you for sharing. The Worldometer count is about to tick over to another day, but it's showing 9,000 fewer new cases today than yesterday. Deaths were up by 1,200 though. Most of the states with the most overall cases saw fewer new cases too, including NY, NJ, and FL. It looks to be the first time there have been fewer new cases from one day to the next since March 21.

There are also reports that deaths are being recorded as related to coronavirus whether that is the cause of death right now or not. It’s hard to know what to believe and what not to believe in any of the “news” these days. Sad but true
Absolutely not.
Now, it *may* being flattening, but you can *absolutely not* say it is with just one day's total being less than the previous.
Just look at the chart, there were other days in which the number went down. Imagine if you proclaimed on that day, "The curve is flattening!!" You'd be absolutely wrong.
You can hope this is a sign of a flattening... but it is most likely not. The latest IHME projection still has Florida short over 800 ICU beds when it crests at the beginning of May.
It's not "people going on a hike." It's non-family members socializing together and ignoring the 6ft distancing while doing so that I was referencing.Huh? I wasn’t challenging... i was just asking if people going on a hike is actually extending the time since the whole point of the Safer at home order is to slow everything down.
Agreed - but that's not what I was referring to AS they weren't in the same household, and weren't observing social distancing. As long as they maintain social distancing from those who aren't in their household, I would say they aren't extending the time-frame of the shut-downs.
