You're welcome to stop reading at any point. Complaining about the content of the thread while continuing to post is a bit disingenuous, no?
Pointing out something is not complaining. I enjoy reading the postings though some are quite repetitious. Any way complaining about my post is a bit disingenuous, no?

As of this morning I heard on the radio that BA2 is doubling every 10 days in NY. NY what (city or state), it didn't say.
I still see about 60 percent wearing masks in public here in NJ and about the same in NYC as of this past Friday. If any of you can, catch what may be a traveling exhibition we saw at the Met in NY which closed this weekend. Inspiring Walt Disney: The Animation of French Decorative Arts
We figured we would spend about an hour. It felt like it, but it was three hours when we walked out. Original Mary Blairs of backgrounds as well as concept stuff and the original prop story books for Sleeping Beauty and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs are just some of the highlights definitely worth the admission price.

Wouild have loved to see that. Unfortunately, I live in the fly-over states and we don't get much of this kind of stuff.

What does this have to do with coronavirus and Disney? Well the coronavirus started the money printing that will lead to the recession and Disney will certainly feel the impact of reduced discretionary spending.

This is going to get much much worse before it gets better and that presumably will have an effect on parks and resorts.

Don't worry, TWDC will be fine as there is always folks with money and those folks are Disney's favorite..

TWDC and its theme parks are invincible.

I am still waiting for someone to prove me wrong. It won't happen, at least not in my lifetime anyway...

Something similar was said about the Titanic (I think Disney owns the movie now).

There are plenty of examples of major companies that dominated their industry and either no longer exist or are a shell of their former self.

I don't think WDW or TWDC are in any kind of medium term trouble but it can happen.

The acquisition of so much IP illustrates that they are trying to diversify so that it doesn't happen.

Wish I could, but sadly, I can't. Kinda reminds me of the last Calvin and Hobbes strip:

Our only problem? We've gotta figure out which direction to go.

Titanic is a poor example, maiden voyage and all that, even Walt had more than one false starts.
Todays Walt Disney Company is diverse, rich and powerful and as we saw as a result of the global pandemic, the company has become only stronger. I see no end to this.

There is no need to worry about TWDC. The company knows how to survive and thrive..
No, I do not own any stock.

Agree fully! But you left out greedy as a descriptor.

Disney is NOT Calvin and Hobbes, not by a longshot...
Man, I am ROTTEN on my metaphors. Calvin and Hobbes is my family. The freshly fallen snow is Disney pricing us out (value-wise) of their resorts. The day, full of possibilities, is now. "let's go exploring" is visiting other parks; there's no path to follow back to Disney.

Sorry for being obtuse!

GE was pretty rich and powerful no too long ago. The company still exists but is not nearly the powerhouse that it was.

I’m not suggesting that Dis is closing its doors. I’m suggesting that it will be a very difficult time that will bring about other unforeseen changes.

Discounts. (at Disney)
I would say lay-offs, but they seem to still be having trouble hiring?

Air travel prices will increase though.

I'm glad the weather is warming up. We filled the tank, parked the car in the garage and are walking everywhere we can instead. (luckily we love to walk)
I take CTA to work in combination with walking 2 days a week, work home 3.
Gas is just about $5 here.

If that happens, maybe they would sell some sort of ticket that's good for a whole year and is affordable for their loyal guests. I'm not sure what they'd call such a thing, but it wouldn't need a catchy name if it comes with the occasional free magnet.
