We've been back to normal for well over a year. No masks, low vax rate. What are we doing different? Nothing.
Not sure how you can say that with a straight face. The county we used to live in (and our kids still do) is small in population, spaced out, no mandates, and no masks, but the only nearby hospital can't take ANY patients that require a hospital stay after surgery, as it is full of COVID patients, and has been for several months now. You are acting like things are normal, but not everything is normal.

Why do I suspect you are leaving out the places where you aren’t spending any time that aren’t normal. Are your hospitals on 2019 rules, no restrictions or different protocols for being onsite? Are your airports operating differently than the rest of the airports and are back to operating like 2019?

I got mine.
That's why I'm not wearing a mask unless forced to, and I don't fear young people.
I'll continue to wear my mask for as long as I feel it's appropriate. As for young people (I assume you mean children), I don't fear them either, though I do recognise that schools are likely to be breeding grounds for the virus, particularly among unvaccinated and unmasked students.

Very interesting read on the probable undercounting of COVID deaths in the US and a new way to determine a better read on it. They say it could be as much as 20% more which would put us over a million. So sad.

There's no doubt deaths have been undercounted. Same with total cases.

That news source doesn't exactly look like the most reliable, and there's absolutely no context given for that video as to what was actually happening, other than one person's angry tweet.

And in what world are temperatures in the 40s "near freezing"? Unless you live in the south, but that would hardly be "near freezing" to someone who lives in the Pacific NW. During the winter, my friends and I would spend hours each week outside in much colder temperatures than that when we were that age.
Exactly this, but also, does the school have recess? If they do, put the faux outrage away.

Get your boosters, people.

Yep.

"Since January, we've had about 289 deaths; 75% are unvaccinated people," Dover said. "And the very few (vaccinated people) who passed away all were more than 6 months out from their shot. So we've not had a single person who has had a booster shot die from Covid."

Not normal.

People who say everything is back to normal obviously don't have friends or loved ones involved in the medical field (unless that friend/loved one is a lunatic anti-science anti-vaxer) and covid hasn't affected their life in any way. It may not, until they need emergency care.

(The facts and data say life is not back to normal across the US, regardless of what some claim.)

You totally missed the point. My point was, they are dressed properly for the weather, just like people who tailgate. You're making it seem like they are being forced to sit outside in 40 degree weather in tshirts and shorts.
No, I'm not.

These are young children. And the (typically) adult tailgaters have layers of protection from the cold. Weber grills, various clothing layers, probably chemical handwarmers and the like.

Additionally, nobody is required to tailgate. People who tend to be bothered by really cold weather can just opt not to go. These students have no choice. Presumably every single day.

Those kids weren't in shorts and Tshirts, they were dressed in weather-appropriate clothing. Nobody who lives in that climate needs handwarmers or external heat sources in 40 degree weather, unless they have Raynaud's syndrome or something like it.

Seriously, I don't know where you grew up or where you live now, but 40 degree weather just isn't that cold for most us, particularly if you dress appropriately.
