No. Over 70% of adults over the age of 12 are vaccinated.

The people who refuse to vaccinate and refuse to mask have been breaking every rule since the beginning of this.
Also, it has to be remembered that there have been multiple reports at this time that the Delta variant does seem to be a bit more successful at infecting those fully vaccinated than originally thought. The vaccines are still very successful at preventing serious complications and hospitalizations, but people even fully vaccinated can still get the virus. I think there have also been multiple reports at this point stating that even fully vaccinated, with the new variant it is more easily transmitted to others. So with this information I would expect even highly vaccinated areas to still have higher rates of transmission, but probably lower hospitalization and death rates.

What I'm surprised by is that people who received the vaccine thought it would be carte blanche to not have to wear masks or follow any kind of guidelines at all. Anyone who has been paying attention to this thing should have known that conditions can and will change and that mitigation strategies would change over time and possibly revert. Those who don't think that are in denial.
A lot of vaccinated people are acting like its a magic force field. I have some in my extended family and there's no explanation that will make them see it differently. I've tried, but ya know, science is tricky. At least they got vaccinated. There's that.

Yup. That's why I'm still masking up even though spread in our community is relatively low and no one else (besides my own sons) are.

Didn’t you say that pre-vaccines? I can do the research, or someone else can — because I’m fairly sure you did.
Not exactly. I said let people and businesses make their own risk assessments and act accordingly.

At this point, with vaccines able to protect against serious illness and death in those who want to protect themselves I support the rip off the band-aid approach and let the outbreak burn out naturally.
