Why what does this achieve?
Lowers the chance of spread of the virus.
Why what does this achieve?
You know what’s even more effective ?Lowers the chance of spread of the virus.
Why do you wear a seat belt if you can still die in a car accident? You know what’s even more effective ?
Not going !
If you have any fear whatsoever of catching the virus you should not be at a theme park.
Doesn’t matter if you mask and social distance you can still catch it, so why are you there?
You have to go to work or get groceries, you do not need to go to Disney.
So you seriously think we should re-tank the economy and people should just stay at home? (All those Disney CMs will be back without a job if no one is visiting WDW)You know what’s even more effective ?

Masks are proven to reduce spread. We can keep the economy open and reduce spread with mask mandates and social distancing.
Why the constant push-back against middle-of-the-road actions that do nothing but help?
You would be losing your mind if you lived where I live. Masks are still mandatory for indoors no matter if you are vaccinated or not. Indoor dining is re opening this Friday. Up til now it's only be patios. Masks aren't going away til we hit 80% first dose and 70% fully vaccinated. What are you talking about?
If you do not feel safe at Disney without masks and social distancing you don’t go.
This will hurt Disney very little since there is a massive pool of vaccinated Americans that want to take a vacation, without the constant reminder of what we just went thru on their face.
The only thing that can crash this economy is a return to mitigation’s that only slow the spread.
If masks and social distancing worked we wouldn’t have needed the vaccine.
You can blame that on the people or government leaders whatever you like, but guess what that hasn’t changed either.
Furthermore the cdc and Fauci both don’t agree with you.
I’ll take their word over the little echo chamber here.
Where I live is already above 80% vaccinated. You would be losing your mind if you lived where I live. Masks are still mandatory for indoors no matter if you are vaccinated or not. A big one is our amusement park finally opened for the first time in over a year 2 weeks ago

You're missing the point.Where I live is already above 80% vaccinated.
Why would I want to move anywhere else?
I think they meant you would be upset by the required masking for vaccinated people, which we don't have here. I'm fully vaccinated and I'm very happy with the CDC guidelines saying I don't have to wear masks anymore (with limited exceptions for air travel, public transportation and doctor's offices).Where I live is already above 80% vaccinated.

It's exactly what I meant.I think they meant you would be upset by the required masking for vaccinated people, which we don't have here. No I’m not. You're missing the point.
I understand all that. With the way things have been handled from the start I am really not surprised to see cases rising in many places again. No I’m not.
Your leadership took a more conservative approach.
That was a smart thing in my opinion.
Problem is our leadership here, who was just voted in recently, decided we no longer needed restrictions.
This put actions into place that can’t be easily undone like many here assume.
Businesses invested heavily into preparing for the return to normal.
This can’t be walked back without damage being done on many fronts.
I understand why people on this forum want restrictions I get it.
They need to understand that genie is not going back into the bottle, it would be economic and political suicide.
What we can do is focus on solving the actual problem.
The people who choose to not get vaccinated.
All of our energy should be focused there.

I don’t know how to respond to anything anymore without getting political but what makes you think the non vaccinated are going to care about restrictions? How do you get the hold outs vaccinated though? With no restrictions, the incentive is gone for so many people.
Lotteries and other bribes don't work, or have worked as well as they're going to.
Businesses have little ability to effect change, since they can't ask for proof of vaccination in Florida. They could mandate masks indoors but at this point that ****es off the people who are vaccinated. A lose-lose prospect.
What is it going to take? Another even worse variant that impacts the unvaccinated in greater numbers? I'm struggling to think of anything else other than bringing back strict restrictions. Send the message - you had your chance to get vaccinated, we trusted you to do the obvious thing, but since you didn't we're going to bring back masks or require proof of vaccination at the Magic Kingdom.
It continues to be mind boggling that the USA didn't finish the vaccination process by now, and that these conversations are still being had. Canada will pass the USA in fully vaccinated numbers in two days, despite starting several months later. Canada is less than a month away from having 80% of the entire population fully vaccinated.

If you have a solution I would love to hear it.Okay, I get it.
We're pretending that everything is okay and that cases are going down everywhere and that there aren't any states in trouble...including Florida.
Have a great afternoon.

What makes you think that the areas of the country that are the biggest problem are going to give two cents about bringing back restrictions?
Meaningful bribes haven't been tried. I'm pretty sure that if you gave people $1,000 tax free for getting vaccinated, a good percentage of the holdouts would get vaccinated. It should have been tied to the last stimulus. How do you get the hold outs vaccinated though? With no restrictions, the incentive is gone for so many people.

Yeah 150% agree.Meaningful bribes haven't been tried. I'm pretty sure that if you gave people $1,000 tax free for getting vaccinated, a good percentage of the holdouts would get vaccinated. It should have been tied to the last stimulus.
