Big Brother Germany contestants just finding out about Corona Spread yesterday:

Not only that I don't have the patience to watch a 38-minute video of an announcement but the damn pointless subtitles/closed captions are killing me. I don't understand a thing. Interesting post though ;)

Any union can propose anything but WDW to pay everyone a full paycheck through August while a good amount of America no longer getting a paycheck while being furloughed at home? Where Dreams Come True for this?
I didn't propose it. However, I don't know what they are going to do...fire everyone? Hope they reapply? I mean my husband's position is one that they invest in! CDL/pyro card/forklift. In fact in his area he's one of the only forklift operators...etc. It costs a lot to train someone on all that stuff. So they just will fire him and everyone else and then hope they come back?

If your union is a good one, they should have a strike fund which is a reserve monetary fund to help assist union workers when furloughed when company operations are shut down. You should look into this matter to help you and your family out. Marriott and Hilton hotels just furloughed thousands of blue and white collar workers nationwide. They are receiving no paycheck but still are covered by health benefits. Companies small and big are making some life altering difficult decisions. I wish you well and keep safe and healthy.

I don't believe your number of 30-59 years olds. Back that up with some proof. ???

I also don't believe a 42 year old who is in any sort of shape will dye from the flu.
If this lawyer hadn't had immediate medical intervention, he'd have died... not from the flu, but from this "new type of cold"...

I really wish they would go do random testing of people in major cities across the country to get a better idea of how prevalent the virus actually is in the general population. Simply doing tests on people that are so sick they go to a hospital or clinic doesn't give a very good indication of how bad the outbreak is. I'm sure it is probably more than the 0.001% based on the total number of confirmed cases in the country as a whole, but just how much higher in each area of the country would probably limit some of the hysteria that is going on right now. Some of the people I know are acting as if walking out to get your mail is risking your life and we live in a sprawling suburban area where doing so would still have you more than 100 feet from any neighbor that happened to be outside.

Right now, they need the limited number of tests available to guide treatment for people who are symptomatic. If they ever get past that curve, then they can open testing up to larger segments of the population.

At some point, I expect everybody's blood test labs will include a screen for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies.

We don’t know the death rate yet, not enough data. Currently death rates are anecdotal.

Well, as a percentage of infections, sure. As a flat, hard numerical comparison in the same amount of time, it's definitively far more deadly than H1N1. There were 10 times more confirmed deaths in the first 16 days than with H1N1.
