So, is Aulani the only DVC property left open? I wonder how long that will last?

With Hilton and Marriott shuttering most of their stock I would think a decision has been made just not released yet. Bet it is a ghost town

My heart goes out to the workers in the hotels, for the most part they will not last a paycheck let alone 8 weeks.

Unremarkable side effects of Corona in the USA......the way I see it anyway:

1)Many people will start to look older, more wrinkly as their acid facial fillers degrade and botox wears off---- give it 4 months after public policy prohibits all unnecessary medical treatments.

2)Suicide bombers and assault rifle mass murderers are out business indefinitely

3)Body/ hand lotion sales will remain steady, I think, since 2 competing changes in consumption behavior will cancel each other out.

Feel free to add to the list.

You don’t think kids should play with their neighbor even outside?
Maybe it's ok ... if they know everywhere those neighbor kids have been in the last 2 weeks, they know every person who has visited the neighbor's house and where all of those visitors have been in the preceding two weeks. And they know for a fact that the neighbor kids and all of their visitors have not been anywhere that a known or suspected case of Corona has been diagnosed.

Otherwise ... why not just go outside and play catch with your own kids for a while instead of taking a chance on spreading the virus unnecessarily.

I am not going to bring up kids or parents at all again. It’s frustrating that so many people do not realize that not everyone is at home during this time..millions of Americans are still working outside of the home.
Instead of realizing that, everyone wants to pretend to be the perfect parent, as if full time working parents don’t really spend time with their kids. Let’s just all try to be more aware and less throwing around of assumptions.

Coronafever is spurring an increase in gun sales. Not a cure but making some to feel very nervous what the future holds.
I expressed concern to my husband and bestie earlier that I worry about the increase in domestic violence and child abuse. My bestie's daughter is in the mental health care field, and her office is gearing up for a big up-tick.

It's not just toilet paper. It's tissue and paper towels as well. All gone!

I suspect to a certain extent...it isn't the fault of individual consumers, but the stores' supplies.

Stores just don't stock much in the way of surplus TP. They keep a lean supply, because TP doesn't make much money and it takes up a great deal of space in their stores and warehouses.

All it took was a minor uptick in demand to disrupt the supply. Normally a people buy toilet paper each day...to prepare for this- everyone all at once tried to buy enough for 1-2 weeks. We think the big box stores will have the most supply, but it is the opposite- the bigger the chain, the better they number crunch to minimize supply.

The problem was even more acute when it came to masks and isopropyl alcohol. Most folks only buy alcohol, what, maybe once a year? A small disruption overwhelmed the supply. If even just 25% of the population was suddenly trying to buy 1 bottle - that was more than enough to overwhelm the supply.

If you think a back we had chicken littles tell us the hospitals would be over burdened and collapse in 10 days and that was two weeks ago... now I've seeing someone say the Hospitals are 8 days from collapse... This is the type of malarkey that causes people to stop listening to anything the media or government says. If you don't have the ability to say what is going to happen in the future then have the guts to admit you don't know instead of just making up worst case scenario answer.

Seattle hospitals are already over burdened.

People are gonna start going stir crazy, especially this time of year when it’s about to be spring.

Can you two start your own thread called "Two Rock-heads Won't Stop"? I already hace Stamps on my ignore list because they have nothing to post worth reading. However, reading the replies to the ignored messages are almost more annoying.
We're long since done. Sorry about that.

Watch out some people might accuse you of being a hoarder.

3 weeks was an eon ago now. Costco and everywhere else has been cleared of toilet paper since the end of last week.

I have not been in any store since this madness started, and I hope not to go to one until all of the idiots realize how idiotic they’re acting.

Frankly every company that can come up with a sob story seems to be trying to use this to milk money out of the government. My biggest problem is the airlines asking for 50 billion... the airlines are the one industry most responsible for this mess. Even when they knew there was a virus starting to spread they took no measure to help slow or stop it... they waited until a government say to stop moving passengers otherwise they would still be more than willing to fly Italians to the US, with no regard to the problems it would cause.

In another time and place if you re-read what you wrote I think you'd be shocked and disagree with yourself. You really want the private airlines deciding who and where people can fly instead of being agnostic?
