Holiday greetings from the Basement! As traditional for our family, Mickey is always around to participate on Christmas morning. I wish I could send someone to everyone. Merry Christmas!

So due to COVID can you not buy any annual pass other than platinum? I used to have a silver one as a Florida resident but it expired back in September. I want to renew now but that no longer seems to be an option.

Not until they can offer an experience that is worth the price. They want control until restrictions are eased.

Aren’t ticket sales dramatically down though? Weird that Universal seems to be doing massive AP deals and Disney is in the opposite camp and not even allowing the purchase of them.

Well just learned my 90 yo father in California got the results of his second Covid test on Christmas day. That test and the first test were positive. No symptoms.. yet. Vaccine priority in California did not have him queued up for it, now he will be lower priority once he recovers. ( He had planned on waiting on vaccine in any case before he got Covid, I was gently trying to get him to get it when his priority group was up.

I do not think they are doing any proactive treatment unless he gets symptoms. He is back at his home. Next door neighbor is keeping an eye on him. ( She recovered from Covid).

So you go lower on the list if you have already had it?

"The United States will begin requiring people flying in from the U.K. to test negative for Covid-19 no more than 72 hours before departure, the CDC said in a late Thursday statement.

The announcement comes after the U.K. earlier this week said it identified a new strain of Covid-19 that appears to spread more quickly. The CDC said President Donald Trump will sign the order on Friday and the measure will go into effect Monday.

The CDC said passengers would have to provide airlines with documentation of their lab results from either polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or antigen tests.

Airlines, which have largely already announced such measures this week, would also have to confirm that passengers have tested negative before boarding, the agency said. They would also have to block passengers from boarding if they refuse to take a test."

Technically they probably do not distinguish. But when he recovers he will less likely , for a decent while , get it compared to someone who has never gotten covid. With limited supply it would provide more benefit during EUA for someone else to get the vaccine. Just wish he had gotten vaccinated a week or two ago, but he was not going to, and his priority group in California was not yet up.

Also since my wife and I have had both shots months ago, if he does get symptoms we can fly out and visit/help him. I am sure Pfizer and Moderna would both be interested in a small way about our unplanned challenge study if we attend my Dad. It is nice to know that some family can visit him if needed ( Though we will have to quarantine if we do see him, because we would likely be in uncharted territory)

Did you find out for sure about your shot? Best wishes to your dad.
