Indeed. If one thinks there is an issue, then one needs to provide enough evidence to show as much. You cannot prove there is no issue; that's the default you're working to reject (statistics!).
The problem is and always will be there is no way of knowing as contact tracing isn't happening. IMO any place that encourages travel shouldn't be open. Its the reason amusement parks in Ontario weren't allowed to open. The government said no as it encourages travel

Between Pfizer and Moderna that‘s 150M people vaccinated by the end of June and that doesn’t include any additional doses from the Pfizer option which would likely get us north of 200M people, and that’s without JnJ or AstraZeneca. Still lots of hurdles to clear but looking good on the vaccine front.

It's certainly not bad news, but as a guy at the back of the line June feels like a long way away...

It’s better than Fall...glass half full ;)

We won’t have full FDA approval for Pfizer and Moderna until some time in April which means the earliest that healthy adults under 65 who aren‘t essential workers will get these vaccines is April. The FDA said full approval after the initial trial participants hit 6 months. That means likely April for Pfizer and Moderna and May for JnJ or Astra Zeneca if they get approved in Jan.

Just an small data point to put Covid-19 mortality into perspective:

The cancer death rate (cancer mortality) is 158.3 per 100,000 men and women per year (based on 2013–2017 deaths). The cancer mortality rate is higher among men than women (189.5 per 100,000 men and 135.7 per 100,000 women). -www.cancer.gov

COVID DEATHS PER 100,000 PEOPLE

Once we have herd immunity mainly through vaccination, it will likely take COVID deaths per 100K to a very small number or fraction of a number.

Just an small data point to put Covid-19 mortality into perspective:

Cancer is a massive collection of totally different diseases. There are thousands of separate organizations and foundations and research funds dedicated to the many many many different facets of that group of diseases.

You can compare Infectious Diseases to Cancer.
You can compare Coronaviruses to Leukaemia.
You can compare COVID-19 to ALL.

You can't compare the bottom rung with the top.

If suddenly one very specific type of cancer contributed to nearly half of all Cancer deaths out of the blue, you can bet the entire world would be on high alert all year long about it. To put it in perspective for you...

"The Food and Drug Administration authorized Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use on Friday, according to two people with knowledge of the decision who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss it. The action means millions of highly vulnerable people will begin receiving the vaccine within days."

I assume you have well intentions with this post.

no doubt the majority of covid victims recover, and this isn’t an “I am Legend” level viral apocalypse. At the same time, it’s still a novel virus, a pandemic, and something that demands respect and caution. As well as our part to protect those who could die easily from it.
