I was explaining to someone from the UK that it is indeed a three day weekend holiday in the US and what holiday it was.

You took that as an opportunity for an ideological rant.

Do you ever wonder why you get involved in so many heated back-and-forths here?
Stating facts. Too bad you don't see that and come up with your terminology.

Are those senior citizens on social media?
I don’t think it applies to all social media, but I would bet there are more senior citizens on Facebook than people under 30. I would guess much less so for Twitter or Snapchat or Instagram. I also think that there are a lot of senior citizens doing a lot more than some younger people right now. There seems to be some correlation between political party affiliation and feelings on Covid, but outside of that it’s hard to say certain groups are acting a certain way. It’s all over the place.

The bolded is correct from my observations.

My definition of senior citizen is someone over the age of 65 not 30.

I haven't really wanted to mention this because it feels personal, but I have a friend who got covid in March on a trip to Europe. She's still unable to work due to a host of issues, including recurring fevers, shortness of breath, and cardiac issues. She's 40, was a runner, no known pre-existing conditions. Uncommon occurrence? Maybe, but we don't know because she shows up as "recovered" in the stats. This is the kind of thing that makes me uneasy about getting covid: the unknowns. Anyone who acts like they've got this all figured out is wrong. No one does yet.

"Olympia High School is temporarily closing its campus and switching entirely to online learning after six COVID-19 cases were confirmed within the school, district officials said Sunday."

"Orange County Public Schools said in a statement on Sunday that Olympia will be closed from Sept. 8 through Sept. 18, and on-campus students will shift to the district’s virtual program LaunchEd@Home.

“This decision to pivot is out of an abundance of caution after several positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed and connected through [Florida Department of Health] contact tracing,” the district said."

"During Olympia High’s closure, there will be no athletic events or extracurricular activities until Sept. 21. The campus will be disinfected before students return to classrooms."

Please read that article thoroughly before getting worried.
I agree- posted without commentary because it did contrast WDW’s reopening with DLR’s, and I think it may be relevant for these reasons:
its about Disneyland; not saying the same practices could be occurring in WDW, but it is an important distinction to give context
Anyone hear about anything similar happening at WDW?

I’ve wondered about Disney’s internal PR efforts around the coronavirus response and reopening. Seems like they have a lot of work to do in that regard. Frustrated/disgruntled furloughed CMs are going to talk.

I’m torn, on one hand Disney already has strict policies on social media and NDAs for cast members, so it would make sense that most of not all would keep their mouth shut as they probably feel lucky to not be furloughed right now.
On the other hand, simple numbers and logic tell me there’s no way there hasn’t been Covid cases among WDW cast members; so you’d think something like that would have leaked by now
