I’m still looking for that scientific method data about masks.

Mingming Liang et al. said:
Results
A total of 21 studies met our inclusion criteria. Meta-analyses suggest that mask use provided a significant protective effect (OR = 0.35 and 95% CI = 0.24–0.51). Use of masks by healthcare workers (HCWs) and non-healthcare workers (Non-HCWs) can reduce the risk of respiratory virus infection by 80% (OR = 0.20, 95% CI = 0.11–0.37) and 47% (OR = 0.53, 95% CI = 0.36–0.79). The protective effect of wearing masks in Asia (OR = 0.31) appeared to be higher than that of Western countries (OR = 0.45). Masks had a protective effect against influenza viruses (OR = 0.55), SARS (OR = 0.26), and SARS-CoV-2 (OR = 0.04). In the subgroups based on different study designs, protective effects of wearing mask were significant in cluster randomized trials and observational studies.
Conclusions
This study adds additional evidence of the enhanced protective value of masks, we stress that the use masks serve as an adjunctive method regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.

This isn’t hard data. Because you can’t have hard data. You would need to put Covid infected people in various public situations, and different mask usage, then measure how many get sick.

Mask usage in a close, hospital type environment has no bearing on situations of people walking past each other in a grocery store, or theme park.
This just in: the ability of spit droplets to permeate a face mask is determined by the location the mask is used in. How could the scientists not have thought of that?!?

Oh wait, because it’s an insane assertion. The efficacy of masks has been established. Higher concentrations of the virus particles will lead to a higher chance of spread. Masks limit the amount of particles that you spew out, therefore limiting the concentration of particles. Does it totally eliminate the risk? No; but it does greatly limit it.

Speaking of experts who got it wrong, Dr. Drew apologized for dismissing the seriousness of COVID...

This is why you look at the data, peer reviewed research, and the consensus. And not a handful of doctors who tried something and they got good (or bad) results. Coincidences and non-causal correlations need to be ruled out by the scientific method. It's a methodology that is not going to get you the 100% correct answer immediately. It is self correcting and takes time.
It’s also why you don’t listen to tv doctors like Drew,Oz or Phil. Trying to build there audience while spewing half truths and outright lies. Please people, stick with the healthcare workers that aren’t looking for clicks or a bump in their ratings.

You really think someone should be in jail for that?

So, we should start throwing everyone in jail during flu season too? Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, are infected by that each year.

Regardless of if you believe the flu is as bad as Covid, tons of people knowingly spread it yearly.
Jail? 🤷‍♂️

Banned from the parks? Yes.

Dang...you beat me too it.
These anti-mask people are driving me insane.

Interesting. A bit less tests but still a drop in the positivity rate. It’s only one day. But it helps the trend go down...
I wonder if the drop in testing is the start of seeing some of the testing centers being shut down starting yesterday? It seemed like the lag was longer than a day, but some people were still getting results back a day later. Percent positive below 10% for the first time in a month. That’s something.

A bit of bright light if it’s trending that way. Was also wondering about the testing sites.
