we didn't do a full lockdown. In fact other countries peeling back their lockdowns is the equivalent to what we have been doing since march.

I'm just glad common sense (in terms of enforcing masks and distancing as opposed to shutting down) is winning, and I'll be able to do my first ever trip to WDW July 11-20. I'm fully in the opinion of, if you're at risk or worried then feel free to stay home.

It sure is a political stunt from both sides. And your plans/money is being held hostage for their games. I'm not saying this virus is not serious and we should all be cautious, but it's here to stay for awhile. You can't stop spikes, you can't erradicate it (yet). The one advice all these experts should be giving is take care of your health and body. Eat right, exercise, get some of that sunshine. Promote healthy habits so you can better fight off a virus like Covid. Instead you just get told mask up/hide in your hole.

It is absolutely basic epidemiology to prevent travel from contagion hot spots to prevent contagious diseases.

It is disingenuous, however, to present the travel ban as if you're being invaded from people from those foreign nations or states, when it is most likely the case that it's your own people who travel to those hot spots and come back with the contagion.

Your claim that the virus is with us and you can't stop spikes is the battle cry of the tragically misinformed. You can stop spikes. You can eradicate a contagion. It's been done with this virus in certain nations. But you have to do difficult things like wear masks and spend money on contact tracing and testing.

If you don't to that, you're admitting you just don't want to do the difficult things to keep society safe.

And that's sad.

Look how percent positive in Florida is spiking without any increase in testing.

IOW, testing more doesn't mean you get higher percent positive numbers.

Very contagious virus + people who think they are invincible and don't wear masks and don't physical distance = very contagious virus wins and lots catch it with some not realizing it and keep spreading it and spreading it and spreading it

very contagious virus
+ people who protect their bacteria filled mouths and keep their distance = protection against very contagious virus and reduces the chances of it spreading

Travels bans are not basic epidemiology, The WHO position is travel bans have a limited effectiveness, there are many others that say the same and many say they are effective.

So weird how other parts of the country are...here on Long Island, if you don‘t have a mask on, you’re not going food shopping.
So true, be in both situations, one full restaurants and bars no masks on server and customers at all, and then super strict line masks only temperature checks before going into a store, also both areas have very low cases. All anecdotal, not saying anything other than it is a strange time.

This is why many people can’t take some of this seriously! There is no clear message !!

One county in the United States is going against the advice of their state government and health experts. It's hardly a confusing message for the rest of us. It should have no impact on taking the overwhelming majority of advice seriously.

As it relates to the flu. It's in the title.

Good try though. Someday you'll use a source properly without distorting it.
My goodness some people have taken "iT's NoT tHe FlU" way beyond the limits of common sense. Just because it's not LITERALLY THE EXACT SAME THING AS THE FLU doesn't mean it can't share come common characteristics with the flu.

Me: A basketball is round, like a baseball.
You: Baseball and basketball aren't even the same sport!
