I've got a niece at FSU right now and she has several friends that have either had or has Covid. They really don't care about this thing but its spreading like wildfire on college campuses.
many diseases spread like wildfire on a college campus for obvious reasons, but hopefully she and her friends are fine and asymptomatic.

Well said, and that is why I think it wont be much more than previous years. It definitely could be tens of thousands, we will see. When close to 3 million die each year, and half of the deaths from Covid are occurring in nursing homes and LTC’s, my opinion the death numbers from year to year won’t be much different.

But dash it all, let’s just add them all to the pot! You speak with such certainty and omniscience. I wish I had such magical powers.

Depends on where you get your news. To make a blanket statement saying the media puts the most negative topic on things and doesn’t mention the positive, although I don’t know if I slight tick of downward positives is that big of a positive, is wrong. Here is a example of media reporting on yesterday lower cases. All depends where you go for your news.

If you watch your favorite news cast or website for info, your usually going to get what you believe is the truth. That’s the problem with this country right now. Everyone is pigeonholed into there beliefs and everyone else is wrong. We need to be adults and do our homework and actually dig into things. A blanket statement of “this is why the media is bad” is wrong on so many levels.
thank you, nice to see the news posted. Hopefully that trend continues in the media

Media is the business of catching eyeballs so they can sell them advertising as a captive audience, so the more bombastic or salacious, the more are drawn in like flies on meat that's gone off.

Wouldn’t you say, though, that when it’s used as a pejorative, it doesn’t apply to “the media” of one’s own ideals?

What this thread does need is what Twitter is doing. When a blatant lie is posted with no proof, automatically a fact check button is added after the post. This way anyone that wants to spread lies or bending the truth into something else can have others reading it and checking it immediately.

Pretty much what I have been attempting to do :)

This is an open forum will lots of opinions. It doesn’t need that. You’re getting carried away.

Do they ban more than 50 at a shopping plaza (whatever form that might take in Sweden)? A theme park isn't a gathering like a party or crowd in a restaurant or bar. The guests aren't all spending a lot of time in close proximity to each other.

A theme park is more like an outdoor mall with indoor shops from a "gathering" perspective.

Opinions are fine. That’s exactly what a discussion board is for. Opinions and different view points is what makes it run. I was talking about people saying things, with no proof, saying it’s the way it is. It’s running rampant here lately. That’s not opinions, it’s telling others they are wrong without zero proof. I really think you knew what I meant.
