It’s a theory being pushed by a Italian doctor that almost every other person in the field rejects. Yes, it’s a theory but with no support. In fact if you do a search for it good luck finding anything. On the other hand there are numerous reports, studies and opinions by everyone else saying why it won’t “die out “. Here’s one I posted probably a week ago on the differences of Covid with others. It compares SARS-COV, one that people think just went away, which is false and a topic for somewhere else, with 19 .

In The History of the Peloponnesian War, Thucydides describes how during the second year of the war (approx. 430 BC) Athens was hit with a plague (not the plague) but after a few months people became bored with it despite the bodies and began acting not just without caution but in ways that would have been unacceptable beforehand. Amazing how little we have changed in 2600 years.

I'm curious - have you actually read Thucydides? He in no way says people we're bored with the disease, he says that people despaired. ("Moreover, supplication at sanctuaries, resort to divination, and the like were all unavailing. In the end, people were overwhelmed by the disaster and abandoned efforts against it.") The unacceptable ways they behaved he attributes to people thinking they would die before any other consequences happened.

Wouldn't expect him to say any different, great designer, super creative and has done amazing things for Disney, but not the go to guy for medical/pandemic advice. Somebody get Ja Rule on the phone ;)

Yeah, he’s not exactly of unknown political beliefs either. His opinion is About as useful as your average Six Flags ride operator. He’s not an expert like so many on here think they are.

One would first assume more testing capacity. Other than that what’s going on that’s contributing to the spike? Just people being lax? Disregards to masks?
Nobody wears masks. Orange county just started a mask order, but said it won't be enforced. Nobody stays six feet apart. People walk by you within 6 inches at target. People are crowding into bars with no masks.

Every single method to reduce transmission has been ignored and nobody is stepping in to do anything.

People have decided the pandemic isn't real and don't have the common decency to take precautions until we know for sure.

It's a public health emergency decided not by experts but by the medical journal of Facebook.

No one should wonder then that FL is the butt of all jokes.

His concerns are valid. Like most people. Difference is he has a bigger audience than me to voice those concerns. Lol.

As expected, they bring up Italy like I mentioned. Well congrats on finding 1 other person in the world that are saying this. I’ll stick with the 99.999999 percent of the ones that haven’t mentioned this being a thing at all.

ehh. Everyone posts singular studies and arguments all the time. I try not to discount too much at this point. Key word, try.

With rumblings that the NBA May pull out from starting in Orlando, to the mayor of Orange County and Miami saying a new shut down is not out of the question. Some higher ups are starting to talk now. Still think Disney will open but who knows at this point .

Just thought he would provide more since he made the comment. Like finding the one scientist that believes in the yeti, they are out there I’m finding out.

You should follow your own advice...try to ignore the single story source because a few “equipment managers” complained.

Yes you baited me shouldn't have taken the bait, not interested in playing the I have more links than you do, source battle, tired game on the internet, that it appears you are fond of. Just sharing theories of possiblities of why cases are going up and deaths going down, time will tell.

I live in Orange County, and that’s not my experience at all. Even before the mask mandate most people were wearing masks in Publix, Target, Trader Joe’s etc. Maybe some parts of the county are less compliant, but that’s my experience in west Orange County.
Grocery stores have been ok. I'd agree with more than 50% (trader Joe's very close to 100%). Target by me is spotty. Sometimes 60%, sometimes feels like 10%. Weekends seem to be bad.

Disney springs yesterday was a mess. I was there for probably 90 minutes in the early evening. Probably 25% wearing masks below chin or off entirely. Some with drinks, some without. No yellow mask enforcers working, only disney security I saw were K9.

At work (retail) I'd hazard its been less than 20% wearing masks.

The correlation between mask wearers and mask burners are a function of their political standing. Where I live (SC), no masks, but go to Raleigh or Chapel Hill, everyone has one.
