I can attest that the unemployment system is still a complete nightmare for all, no matter what company they work for in Central FL. 38% of applicants have been deemed ineligible, many for unknown reasons as the system is not providing a way for users to see why they were declined. There is a section in the website where that info belongs, but its blank for most ineligible. So, the only option is to call, and the phone lines are a crazy, disaster mess. It is nearly impossible to get through as the line disconnects during every call. Sometimes it will say "We are too busy, call later" and then disconnect, and other times it will just randomly disconnect while you are holding waiting to talk to someone. Between my husband and I we called over 50 times in one day this week. Total nightmare...we are now on week 7 since having applied, with no pay. and no answers.
My brother got a letter with the reason he was declined and figured out what he did wrong. He's now updating the application.

Self reported......just as I suspected. So why in the world would one admit to something that could harm them financially.

Why would one volunteer information that leads to firing or undesirable repercussions.

And this is why I laugh when it’s suggested that the majority will follow all COVID guidelines put in place at Disney. This right here.

You don’t want to follow those rules, go find another job. That’s what so many here usually say. This poster IS following the rules because that’s the right thing to do.

I’m sure some people would just lie about it. I think at least where I work the majority of people would not want to risk getting their co-workers sick so they followed the rule. They also probably didn’t want to risk losing their job over this either. It’s really not too difficult to get caught.

Well someone was enjoying Disney while they are closed.

I would be scared to death on that island at night... who knows what else is living there.

Also... it’s a Florida swamp... not exactly a tropical paradise but more power to him! Ha

I want to know how he got out there? Swim? Canoe? I agree though on the scary part. I remember it being scary during the daytime back in the day. Things would just pop out and scare the s*** out of you. 🙂

The back side of that lake has some non-Disney private property so maybe he got a boat in there somewhere. There are definitely gators in those waters and with no tourists around to feed them they are likely starving ;)

????
Please explain
People talk. Everyone I work directly with knows I have a Disney trip planed in August. Lots of people are connected to their co-workers on social media too or their kids know the kids of co-workers. There’s a lot of ways word could get out. I don’t really think anyone I work with would turn me in, but if someone feels unsafe they could maybe do it.

.

I'm curious to how an employer would know your personal travels
The lobster red sunburn after 2 weeks in Florida would give it away pretty quickly. But seriously speaking they wouldn't know anything unless I voluntarily told them, just as if I was around a suspected cased of COVID-19 they wouldn't know unless I told them during my daily entrance screening. With it being written into the policy though if I neglected to quarantine after traveling and it was found out, it could be just cause for termination.
Further if anyone was proven to be infected by me there could be civil lawsuits.

That’s funny, I thought flying takes the fun out of flying for most people.
Home to MCO is approximately 3.5 hours boarding to unboarding for us. It's already spent trying to forget I'm in a plane, I can't just walk out, and remembering I still have air. So not fun but I tolerate it to save days of driving. Personally not even going to attempt doing all that with something on my face.
