I think given the extraordinary rise in Brazilian COVID cases, even the State Governor would be wary of allowing the Brazilian tour groups back any day soon.
De Santis spoke about Brazil today while in DC. I’m not sure what will be done exactly but the concern was brought up to be addressed.

I wouldn't worry about international visitors, they probably don't want to come to the US very soon. With over a million cases, that's more than the next 5 countries combined, they will wait.

I can tell you... many Canadians are certainly not planning trips across the border anytime soon. Most are demanding the border stays closed as long as possible with the case numbers to the south.

I am suppose to fly at the end of May from Ohio to Idaho. Just trying to figure out if I want to cancel. Did you sleep the whole time? I would assume you also had to wear one at the terminal?

We had to wear it to check in, and then again once we boarded and throughout the entire flight. I can’t sleep on planes, i don’t like not knowing what’s going on around me lol. It wasn’t too bad. I work on DCL and it seems to be similar to what we were doing on ships to keep people as safe as possible.

At some point, if/when the virus starts to mutate into a strain that is even deadlier and resistant to all vaccines

You know, there is a chance that it can mutate into something much less deadly. I know that is not scary, so why talk about it right?

Also, the rest of it does not matter as much either. There are thousands of things that have no cure(millions really) that are livable, that we catch and pass on all the time. Treatments are just as important as a vaccine if not more so. Vaccinations are never full proof either. You shoot for goals of both vaccines and treatments.

I suspect they will ban large groups. I think the international tour groups go through a program sponsored by Disney.

What do you do about families that are massive? Its a disaster waiting to happen. Can you imagine standing in the hot sun on splash mountain, and because of social distancing the wait is 500 minutes. I'm good.
Wouldn't the queue be shorter due to the spacing in the queue? So in turn wait would be shorter if Disney limited the line to the queue entrance only

I think June 1 is a good date still gives Disney 33 days to get prepared plus 32 days for time to pass from today. Like it or not they are going to open, Florida is going to open this is life and or death for thousands of businesses to try and survive if they can.

I have a reservation which has not been cancelled as of it for May 27th, so it remains to be seen if they will soft open in some capacity around Memorial Day weekend. Maybe with existing reservations as a small local AP and phase up by June 1st.

I would assume if they were not planning to open by June 1 they would be working on letting people know since I am sure many reservations have been made for that date in the hopes of opening. Would be a pain cancelling and reaching people at this point almost a month out.

And another thing. Say the resort’s are all full with whoever is booked. They say we are open but when you arrive, because of the 25-50% capacity at the parks, they tell you your days in the park are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Is that even possible?
It’s a better idea than just showing up and being told “we’re full, go home”. Imagine being told that at rope drop. At least some kind of entire park reservation system lowers incidents of total disappointment (imo)

And the margins on dining aren't that high. Which I think is going to really have them evaluating which restaurants will open and which ones won't. Some of those places aren't exactly roomy to begin with.
And we used to laugh ( or be outraged) at folks who brought their own coolers into the park. Good times when the only place you can get a bite is the popcorn stand next to the Tangled bathrooms. :p

Is there really going to be that much demand when WDW opens up? The MK allegedly has a capacity of 100K guests so even if they limit it to 50% that’s 50,000 people. Any shot that over 50,000 people show up by rope drop? Even Christmas week and July 4th during a normal year the phased closing usually starts mid-day as crowds continue to surge. I guess anything is possible but my gut says its unlikely to be that packed.
